Dear Mark Scharfman, landlord for Le Madeleine ;

Le Madeleine has been an important anchor of the West 43rd St. / Hell’s Kitchen community for 27 years, and we strongly urge you to reconsider your eviction plans and continue the existing 12 year lease agreement with Le Madeleine. It should not be destroyed by demolition, nor should it be a victim of any development plans you have for this neighborhood. This restaurant stands out as a proud part of your property portfolio and should be allowed to continue to be of service to the community into the foreseeable future.

ClaireZweigMorris PlainsLe Madeleine makes this neighborhood a great place and is a stronhold in the Theater District as well.
WendyKeysNew YorkThis beloved restuarant is an urban treasure and MUST not be destroyed for the sake of the community and the visitors to the mid town neigborhood. The unique congeniality of Toney Edwards and his staff combined with affordable, high quality, delicious food make it an extraordinary dining experience.
RichardAzarNew YorkWe strongly support Le Madeleine's efforts to remain a fabric of the restaurant community in Hell's Kitchen. Rich Azar and Diane McGaw
lindaperrindallasDear Landlord, please reconsider your eviction of LeMadeleine restaurant. Every visit we make to N.Y. we eat at Tony's restaurnant as do our Dallas friends. We would be so sad to lose this famous landmark for us. Please reconsider your decision. Linda Perrin
AlissaGumprechtNorth StoningtonWe stand behind Toney and his right to keep Le Madeleine where it belongs.
NicholasGumprechtNorth StoningtonToney and Le Madeleine deserve to be respected. There is too much history in the building and the restaurant to have it treated this way.

MelissaSepe ChepuruScarsdaleNo way. I love LeMad. My first waitressing job in NYC in 1988 was at LeMad. I was there for 3 years and made my best friends in the City there. My fam. I'm going to come in and see the old place. Where is the Durst Family in all of this?

BarbaraBurkeRockaway BeachAs a former resident of the neighborhood, I feel strongly that Le Madeleine should NOT be forced out of business. The area has already been harmed by too much development and Le Madeleine is a great little restaurant that is an integral part of the charm of West 43rd street.
AnneliesGlen-TevenManhattan BeachWhat a shame trying to destroy a real New York landmark
KristineGiovannelliHuntingtonAn eviction of Le Madeleine would be a tragic loss.
KateDel GattoNaplesThis restaurant IS New York. I lived in the neighborhood and still always go there as it is a great part of the New York culture and true "family" for the neighborhood. It is NOT just another restaurant. It is a beloved wonderful gathering place where one can find a delightful harbor under the caring ownership of Toney Edwards and the staff. Please do not take this away from New Yorkers and the rest of those who travel to relive their joyous evenings with friends.
MaryRamondNew YorkMr. Scharfman, Le Madeleine is much more than a good restaurant, it is special to many who go regularly to eat, drink, talk and listen. Think, please, before you move to flatten one more great New York neighborhood.
PeterCriswellNew YorkLe Madeleine is not only a restaurant it is a special gathering place and has been for many years. The owners have given so much to the community and I am proud to support their request. Please keep Le Madeleine in our neighborhood.

D.G.BannonLA/NYCMr. Scharfman: Le Madeleine is a gem of a place from all points of view. Knocking it down will only be for corporate interests. Considerdoing your part for the City and the people of the world. Bannon
HelenEngelhardtBrooklynI LOVE Le Madeleine! It is a treasure -to be able to find a restaurant so charming and cosy in the Theater District felt like I was given a gift to share with my friends.

AllieClaytonEast CanaanAs an out-of-stater, LeMadeleine has been an outstanding reason for my visits to N.Y.C. Without it, my visits to your city would most definitely be deminished. I trust you might do the good and decent thing and allow this restaurant to continue serving not only your immediate community but those who go out of their way to enjoy the services it has endowed us with.
JaneBeatyNashvilleThis is a wonderful restaurant for so many reasons. Many Nashvillians, whom I know personally, have eaten at Le Mad, to rave reviews with no exceptions. Le Mad is not just another snooty big city restaurant,but one with a warm atmosphere and exceptional people who provide outstanding food and superior service to all who come through the doors! It would be a major sin to tear this beautiful place down. Shame on you, Mr. Sharfman, for even thinking of such a thing. Where is your heart? You ought to know by now that life is not just about money. You need to help preserve this little neighborhood jewel,instead of what you are planning.
