Sarah | Jury | Dallas |
Martin | Israelit | Providence | As a former New Yorker now turned frequent tourist, I usually include the Madeleine pre or post theater as well as dinner parties every visit. To my family and extended family, it is a charming component of the entertainment district with fair prices and unpretentious well prepared fare in an area usually known for the opposite. An abrupt change on this block blights the very ambience of the outskirts of the theater district. Shame on your lack of foresight and refinement which is probably fueled by greed.
JEAN | ANDERSEN | OYSTER BAY |
Jacques | Franey | East Hampton | I have been a customer and friend of Le Madeleine for over 15 years. Please let the restaurant stay!
Anthony | Romano | Fairfield | Keep your place open!
Gale | Rundquist Chen | New York | As a real estate broker in Manhattan it is now evident that there is too much development. An over supply of housing for the wealthy has been created. Le Madeline is a landmark unto itself - it is unique and allows money to flow into the area.It has employed the middle and working class people for 29 years. This is historic in the restaurant business. It gives character to the neighborhood and the surrounding area. In conclusion it would be tragic for it to be demolished.
Michelle | Lamb | New York | This restaurant treats its employees and customers as family. Please don't break us apart.

ashim | ahluwalia | bombay/ new york | Le Madeleine is a monument - both for the neighbourhood and for me personally. It must not be demolished!
Nina | DeNigris | Huntington | This is a wonderful resturant that would be missed. Please reconsider your developement plans.
Larry | Nathanson | Cambridge | A wonderful restaurant which has long been a Manhatten icon and which is a major atraction for tourists.
Lanny | Powers | NEW YORK CI TY | Please save the Madeleine, it's one of the few intimate, high quality places left in this town . The chain restaurants for tourists are destroying the fabric of N.Y. living.
William | Finsilver | Mill Neck | As friend and customer for over 15 years, this would be a tragedy to force this wonderful bistro to close and charming building to be demolished.
Philip | Giovannelli | Huntington | Please save this characteristic establishment. It will be impossible to create this atmosphere again if it is lost.
Amy | Nelder | san francisco |
Howard | Wolfe | New City | Le Madeleine is a NYC institution. Please honor the lease you have signed with them.
| 71 | Josee | Vermette | new york | There are other values than money. Please reconsider your eviction plan.
Thank you! |
DANIEL | BRIER | wheaton |
Jufy | Oston | NYC | My family has been enjoying great dinners at Le Madeleine for decades. I send all out-of-towners there and they love it. It's great for NYC tourism and for New Yorkers. Please keep it!
Aran | Nathanson | New York | Don't tear her down.
Katy | George | Taos | This is an outrage!
| 76 | David | Krane | New York | Le Madeleine is one of the defining
restaurants of the Theatre District,
and to destroy it would be a crime.
Please don't do it. |
Rachel | Klein | Brooklyn | Vive Le Madeleine!
RIck | Brainard | Roxbury | Please don't jeopardize one of the best restaurants in town, not to mention everyone connected to it.
Jody | Hyland | Dallas | I have been dining at, entertaining at, and loving Le Madeleine for all of its 29 years. It can't happen!!!
Deborq | Schwartz | Scottsdale | Please save Le Madeleine
| 81 | Ronnie | Dane | New York | I've been a patron of Le Madeleine for many years.
Presumably, an eviction notice, apparently an illegal one at that, is to demolish a low-built area in favor of one more luxury high-rise. And one more high-rise is just what the Hell's Kitchen/Chelsea area does not need. Developers are trying to make money in my neighborhood as well, and may well destroy it, too, in the process.
You're just being greedy. Don't do it.

Cary | Levine | New York | Please NO!!!!
Mary B. | Woodbridge | Columbus | Please do not destroy something as fine as Le Madeleine.
Barbara | Mayer | Pound Ridge | this wonderful restaurant and historic bldg should be saved.
Debora | Schwartz | Scottsdale | Please save Le Madeleine.
tom | gaffney | Columbia | Consideration please!
Virginia | Vitzthum | Washington | I travel frequently between DC and NY, and never fail to dine at Le Madeleine when in town. The NY friends I've introduced to this terrific place often return even when I'm not visiting. There's been enough loss in NY in the last 5 years; don't add to the demolition of a community beloved by so many.
joseph | alter | Coram | We have loved and enjoyed the Clinton Area and Le Madeleine for years and it would be a sin to demolish this landmark building. Please rethink this horrible idea.
Lisa | Ehrenkranz | New York | please save this lovely space!
Helen | Sebesta | East Greenwich |
Lucy | O'Laughlin | New York | Mark - cut a deal with Toney that works for both of you.
Alissa | Churchill | New York |
Arthur B. | Baer | Madison, | Le Madelaine is a great restaurant in a beautiful space. Toney Edwards has spent years making it one of the finest bistros of New York. It should go on forever!
adrienne | sloane | watertown |
beth and jack | devine | wappingers falls | We love le madeleine and would be so disappointed if we couldn't go there for their wonderful cuisine. How awful to close this beloved restaurant for redevelopment in the neighborhood. PLEASE reconsider.
James | Wooten | New York | Why don't you fill up the huge hole on the southeast corner of 42nd and Tenth and leave Le Madeleine alone!/?
Mar;vin | Gerstein | San Mateo |
