| 54 | Jennifer | Friedenbach | CA | US | This is outrageous. Ms. Harris childrens death is the responsibility of us as a society. We failed Ms. Harris. The blood is on our hands, not hers. Please don't add another tragedy to such a sad story. Ms. Harris should have been cared for by professionals. She was not. |

| 56 | james | chionsini | | | What the hell is going on? How can you oppose the death penalty for someone accused of being a cop killer and now support it for a person who is obviously severely mentally ill? Is it just a convenient political move because you know that no jury with half a conscience or sense of justice would send this poor woman to the death chamber? I am wondering however, do you support the death penalty for other people with life threatening disabilities????
come on, what is going on here? |

| 67 | Clare | Corcoran | CA | US | Dear. Ms. Harris,
I admired you for resisting pressure to seek the death penalty for David Hill. The case of Lashaun Harris is even more clearly not appropriate for the death penalty. Lashaun Harris is mentally ill. She and her children were not protected even though so many people knew she was mentally ill. There is an inadequate social safety net in the US. No family should be allowed to be homeless, and a mentally ill person cannot become stable while they are moving from one shelter to another. Don't make Lashaun Harris a skapegoat for our failure as a society to take care of each other. She should be prevented from hurting anybody again, but it would be immoral to kill her for being ill. Please don't seek the death penalty. You stood up to pressure in the David Hill case. Please do it again.
Sincerely,
Clare Corcoran

| 68 | Vickie | Johnson | CA | US | I strongly agree with the statement above, working with the homeless and persons with physically and emotionally dissabilities. Many people are struggling with these very same issues. This woman never should've had custody of these children, at very least joint custody would have assisted in preventing this, as well as someone taking her serious when she TOLD people what was in her head! Don't penalize her for the faulty system that told her family to IGNORE her staements, that she would say crazy things. IGNORE? She was reaching out for HELP and was denied that assistance! |

| 74 | Gifford | Hartman | CA | US | Dear Ms. Harris,
I feel TOTALLY betrayed. You won my vote for promising NOT to use the death penalty. Otherwise, I would have voted for Kayo.
Please, please live up to your word. If not, I can only hope that Kayo runs again.
Sincerely,
Gifford Hartman |
| 75 | Paul | Allen | CA | US | I voted for you when I lived in The City, in part, on your opposition to the death penalty. If anyone is not a candidate for it, Lashaun Harris should not face the death penalty. She is a sick woman. She should be put away, but not killed. Thank you, Paul Allen |

| 79 | Andrea | Cavanaugh Kern | | | Seeking to execute a mentally ill person is inhumane. Please reconsider. |
| 80 | Kamil | Jibril | | | No one in their right mind would kill their children, therefore no on in their right mind would kill another person as punishment.
If you can not forgive others how can you forgive yourself? |

| 83 | christina | campbell | IL | US | this is an unfortunate tragedy but the system also failed these children and treatment for their mother should be provided as a result, not another death. |
| 84 | Judith | Aldridge | | UK | To seek the death of such an obviously insane person at the time of them committing their offence, is more sick than she is. |

| 88 | Kerri | Vasquez | KY | US | Execute her doctor if you HAVE to kill someone. This is horrible. I have 2 small boys myself, so I know there was something seriously mentally wrong with her to kill her children. Don't you think that the torture in her own mind of what she has done, and spending the rest of her life in prison is enough! I'd rather die myself! So, if you want to punish her, give her life without parole! |
| 89 | *** | *** | | | i feel for the family of lashaun , but one question if she was so unstable and her family knew it then why let lashaun keep her children ? people that suffer from mental illness should not have the right to keep there kids ! maybe she shouldnt be put to death , but she needs to be in a mental health facility for the rest of her life !!! |
