These companies should be forced, by govt. to pursue production of alternative sources of energy, not be given subsidies to produce old technology that rapes and pillages the areas where they are done and contributes to global warning. It's time the gov't showed some backbone and change the mining laws and start to protect it's natural environments or the entire country will start to look like something out of "Blade Runner" |

| 74 | I`ve been crawling up La Bajada for decades now and can`t see any good reason to go ripping it up for the personal gain of a few mining stockholders and mineral rights holders. I think this is a case where the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. |
| 75 | Please do what you can to protect the view and historic value of La Bajada Mesa from proposed gravel mining. I understand that landowners want to use their land for their own purposes, but there are public interests to be considered as well, and this land is not just vacant land with no better use than mining gravel. I believe the public's interest should inform the decision in this case, and that permission to mine gravel should be denied. |
