Designate Kiley Gardens as a local landmark.

The petition

By signing this petition, I urge that the City of Tampa designate Kiley Gardens, 400 North Ashley Drive, Tampa, FL 33602 (Folio no. 193353-0501,Pin no. A-24-29-18-4ZI-000062-000A1.1), as a local, historic landmark. Designed by National Medal of Arts recipient Daniel Urban Kiley, Kiley Gardens meets specific criteria for landmark designation as established by the City of Tampa’s Historic Preservation Committee. In addition, under the National Register of Historic Places, this significant modernist-style design meets criteria ‘c’ for landmark designation.

C. that embody the distinctive characteristics of a type, period, or method of construction, or that represent the work of a master, or that possess high artistic values, or that represent a significant and distinguishable entity whose components may lack individual distinction.

Designation as an historic landmark will ensure the viability of Kiley Gardens, thereby preserving this endangered masterpiece of landscape architecture.
