LawrencePlease consider all viable options so that we can keep our trails open. Johnson Valley is an important area for offroaders from all over the US and the propsed expansion in this area by the 29 Palms Marine Corps base would be catastrophic.
Joe DillardI gladly sign my name to this petition! Regards, Joe Dillard
Jerry BransfordAs a long-time supporter of the US and the military, especially the Marine Corps, I'm against losing a treasured unique area for outdoor recreation that is known world-wide, Johnson Valley. Its natural beauty and unique trails duplicated nowhere else are a treasure I, my family, and my friends would sorely miss if it were to be taken over by the Marines. This may look like a bleak desolate area to some, but it's a place of solitude and beauty to us Johnson Valley lovers. We treat the area with much care, deservedly so. As much as the offroad community as a whole supports the military, it would be a shame to lose Johnson Valley to the less caring intended purposes of the Marine Corps. Please keep Johnson Valley as is, a pristine unspoiled national treasure that so many individuals and families love and visit as often as possible.

David GoodmanPlease keep this area open, as there are plenty of areas that are already closing. Soon there won't be any area that we can go off the paved road and not get into trouble. Keep closing places, and soon, there will no longer be any where to take the kids much less ourselves!!!

Chris FieldPlease keep JV Open
Scott MillerPlease do not close Johnson Valley, or any other of our FEW places to take our vehicles off road.
Jason WilliamsPlease consider other alternatives for any expansion the USMC may need for training instead of annexing the Johnson Valley area. OHV users cannot afford to lose anymore areas to recreate legally.

Chris ChaseThe military has so many more places that they can utilize and our recreational places are shrinking. This would be a bad deal for the public.
Noah BaldwinPlease dont close JV, there are less and less places for us 4x4 enthusiasts to go and our clubs and events work very hard at preserving and taking care of these outdoor areas. what will life be like when there is nowhere for anyone to go and get away and clear their minds??
Kirt SimmonsAs a member of Geared 4 Fun Four Wheel Drive Club, we do a lot of trail maintenance for the San Bernadino Forest Service. This type of activity trickles down to all trails including those in Johnson Valley. We help maintain these trails so that our children can enjoy them someday too. So few get this opportunity, don't take it away.

John StewartJohnson Valley is a valuable and unique recreation opportunity within easy reach of the largest metropolitan area in the United States. And, demographics show that OHV recreation is the fastest growing sport in the nation. The loss of recreation opportunity is significant.
Paul Haley
Dane MillerFaster and faster our precious OHV land has been taken away from us. Every little piece we can spare, we should keep. It's a safe, legal, way for us "wheelers" to "play" with the rigs we've spent our hard earned money, and time on. Also, a GREAT family experience. Taking such a thing away like that would be a stupid idea.
Morgan DeRodeffPlease do not expand the Marine base over the Johnson Valley OHV area.
Brian YuenKeep it open! Keep it open for people to enjoy the great outdoors who will help protect these beautiful areas!

Steven M UnwinI strongly oppose any plan which would result in more OHV trails being closed. Johnson Valley is fully utilized already by tens of thousands of California OHVers every year. This area is important to us and our families. I want the marines to have places to train, but they already have camp pendleton, 29 palms, miramar, and a number of other bases in California. They don't need Johnson Valley as much as we do. Regards, Steve Unwin

David SturzakerI understand there may be a need for the Marine Corps to expand training areas but a move into the Johnson Valley OHV area would eliminate one of the most famous networks of hardcore trails in the country. Many of us travel days to spend our recreation time and money in this area Please consider ALL options and keep Johnson Valley open to the public

Scott AndersonPlease do not close this land to OHV. Its a GREAT place to wheel.
AnonymousNO MARINES IN JV
Jennifer KingPlease save the Johnson Valley OHV area!
Erik JordanAs an avid outdoorsman, i enjoy keeping our public lands public. it would be best for all involved if this move by the Marine Corps. were in a different direction on the map. the Johnson Valley trails cannot be replaced with any other area of land as there is nothing that even remotely compares.
