| 1 | Mike Cook | This place is special and deserves to be kept open to the public. It is truely on of the best local trails in Florida. Considering the money that it costs to maintain even 1 softball field with lights, irrigation, mowing and maintenance, this trail is self sufficient. The club that maintains it is purely volunteer and make it one of the best groomed trails in Florida. Thanks to all those involved. |
| 2 | Greg Williams | I ride this trail at least two to three times a week. My two children as well as most of my freinds also ride and help maintain this trail. I have made many new freinds from riding the trail. This is a great alternative to sitting in front of a TV for an afternoon. It is wonderful to be able to get out and experience the natural beauty of FLorida. |
| 3 | William Sullivan | The Fort Pierce bike trail has been an amazing influence in my life. I started riding there about a year ago and ride at least once a week. It is a great place to meet people from out of town or locally that share a passion for mountain biking and for getting out in the great outdoors. I have personally invested well over 100 hours of trail work and clean-up out there and this is just a drop in the bucket compared to all of the efforts that have been made by all of the riders over the years.
I think that a lot of people have the misconception that mountain bikers are just a bunch of kids out riding their bikes in the woods, but surprisingly enough our demographic is comprised of not only a handful of kids, but also business owners and professionals ranging in ages reaching up into their 60's.
Save the Trail. |
| 4 | Steve Ferry | I am a 56 year old St Lucie County resident who has been riding and working on this trail for over 16 years. This trail is a unique geographical and ecological feature, with terrain not commonly found in this part of the state. As such, it really is not suitable for any sort of development. The bike trail is an ideal use for this land and should be viewed as a keystone of the Okeechobee Road corridor of the County's Greenways Plan. SAVE THE FT PIERCE BIKE TRAIL. Thank you. |
| 5 | William Klausmeyer | This trail system is a well maintained and well known one which fits nicely into St. Lucie's comprehensive 10 Mile Creek corridor recreational plan.
It represents a fine example of an urban trail, and one which will help sustain an imperiled ecology.
The trail system is also an excellent source of revenue under the heading of eco-tourism and will help local businesses and residents as they aspire to have their real estate values increase over time.
Thanks |
| 6 | BOB PEPLOW | We need more places to ride...Thanks |
| 7 | Jeffrey McFarlane | Please save the trail for our health and wellness. Thanks. |
| 8 | Nick DiBenedetto | This trail is one of the premier trails in the state of Florida. People travel from all over the state and even from out of state to ride there. There is not a trail from Miami to Ocala that has a following like the Crossroads Fort Pierce trail. People drive past established parks such as J.D. State park and Halpatiokee (which are both many times larger and have full facilities) just to ride this unique trail.
This trail has the potential to become even more of a regional attraction given the undeveloped land adjacent to it on 10 mile creek. The creation of a trail corridor in this area could change the entire feel of this part of Fort Pierce. Hikers could use the land South of the creek and Bikers could stay to the north eliminating user conflict issues that plauge other areas. The Crossroads Fort Pierce trail is the key peice to this puzzel given its location and unique terrain.
This trail attracts bikes of all sorts, from parents with children to fitness fanatics.
If this trail is lost there is nothing within hundreds of miles like it, and nothing that can replace it.
This trail must be protected. |
| 9 | Martin Spencer | Please keep this wonderful resource open for everyone to use. I drive 100 miles each way from Fort Lauderdale to ride there because it really is a unique and challenging venue. |

| 11 | Todd Thrush | Save the trail!! |
| 12 | Kevin Gray | I am shocked to hear that the great trails at Fort Pierce are being threatened. this is a great riding spot so close to the Turnpike AND I-95 and being where it is gives me an excuse to stop there for gas and fill up and catch a meal after a ride. What a money maker for local businesses!! |
| 13 | Tracy James Nonato | This trail have lots of potentials of becoming a mountain bike park on the Treasure Coast. If this trail would be given a chance to be a legal MTB trail then this trail would be very famous and would be one of the best MTB park in Florida. |

| 19 | Tom Foselli | The Mountain Bike Trail in Fort Pierce has been a great part of the cycling community for as long as I can remember. Many riders, including myself and my wife, learned to ride a MTB there. Mountain biking allows us to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and get some great excersise and comradarie, all of which would be greatly missed if the trail were to close. In my experience, the MTB riders at the trail are overwhelmingly responsible, career-minded adults who have a very low impact on the land and treat it respectfully. It would be a shame to lose this little gem of a trail. |

| 21 | BRYAN FRANTZ | South Florida needs more places to ride and the Ft. Pierce trail is one of the best. The trail provides recreation for people of all ages and skill levels. Please keep it open! |

| 24 | tom rassiga | please save this trail!!!!! |
| 25 | vic ceglady | There is nothing like this trail anywhere around this area. The trail is a positive for this comunity and since the land cant be developed anyway there is no loss to any of the owners or county for tax revenue. Mountain biking is a passive use of this area and causes no more impact than foot traffic and certainly less than horse traffic. At the very least pls let us continue to be able to use and maintain this trail. Work is done by members of the club and doesnt cost anyone else a dime. Also non members are welcome to use the trail at anytime. Vic Ceglady |

Thanks |
| 31 | dennis flushing | This is by far one of the best and beautiful trails around We have lost to many trails to developers please don't let this one go |
| 32 | Rob Naylor | I live in West Palm Beach and try to make the 60 mile trip to the Fort Pierce Bike Trail at least once a week. The loss of a trail that has been the focus of both time, labor and heartaches of such a large group would be a huge loss to to these individuals, future individuals that would use the trail and the community.
Thanks,
Rob |
| 33 | Dave Huml | Save the Mtn bike trails in Florida!!! |
| 34 | Martin Garcia | I am an Engineer who has been riding in Florida for over 15 yrs. The Ft. Pierce trial is one of the best trails in the state. It would be a shame to waste such a precious natural resource. |
