| 77 | Anonymous | The construction industry knows it can get away with the flaunting of the building regulations. It takes so long to get anything done to correct these illegal builds. It only takes the courts to order one or two of these types of things to be removed & then people might think twice before investing their money on illegal builds. |
| 78 | Anonymous | I think that this is a barbaric construction and wonder why on earth no authority has enforced the laws of this country to get the perpertrators to remove the construciton? Their lack of willingness to act seems indicative of the biased why some are allowed to do as they wish and others are not!!! |

| 80 | Timothy South | I bought a home in Cape Greko because of the unspoilt coastline. I am passionate about the preservation of "natural" Cyprus and it sickens me to see it systematically destroyed in the name of fiancial gain. |

| 95 | Malcolm Slater | As the owner of a holiday home at Neo Chorio I am appalled by the apparent lack of enforcement of planning and building controls, if they exist. When will the Cypriot authorities realize they are allowing the natural beauty of the island to be destroyed for ever? The mere fact that the pier was built at Protaras is a classic example. Tourism is a major business for Cyprus but it will decline unless the authorities start exercising control on all developments, ensuring they do not spoil the coast and countryside and that all building work is monitored and controlled by specialist staff employed by the local authorities to ensure the work is of a good quality. The present attitude of the government and local authorities will eventually cause the Cypriot economy to suffer greatly. Spain is now having to demolish many developments built along its coast, often as a result of local authority corruption, and Cyprus needs to learn from Spain's mistakes. |
