363 AlfredoMacedaESThis is for joinning to all the people who wants to see the restored version of the outstanding film The Sand Pebbles directed by Robert Wise and based upon the novel of Richard McKenna with the same tittle. The movie like all we have seen, is not the same as it was originally conceived. Thanks.

367 PaulWhitmanAUAs well as an allegory for the US in Asia, it is now one for the US in Iraq. It is also a tribute to the pre-war USN.

372 AnonymousAnonymousUSI was fortunate to see the roadshow version when it was first released in Japan. New generations should be able to see the original version for it is one of the most important movies from 60s. An inheritance of great American cinema.

379 Captain GuyNowlan USNUSPlease, Restore "The Sand Pebbles" to it's original format. This movie gives a glimpse of the sacrifice and dedication of American Servicemen for the preservation and safety of American civilians. The movie shows the difficulty in determining and doing the "right thing" in the most adverse conditions. Please, preserve this movie in recognition of all the Veterans who offered all they had (their life) to save our nation. Signed by a Naval Officer, disabled from multiple injuries sustained in combat over Iraq.
380 AnonymousAnonymousPlease restore the film to the original. Thank you.
381 keithevansUSNeeds to be done awesome movie
382 JamesHockingUSIn December 1967 I was in US Navy Basic Training in Great Lakes. For my one day liberty from boot camp, I took a train to Waukeegan Illinois and went to the movies to see the Sand Pebbles. It is among the all time best movies made. There was no better actor than Steve McQueen

388 CharlesFolgerUSMovie is particularly relevant today, with US involvment around the world and people in different nations wanting the US to leave their countries, and our military having to deal directly with the pain and suffering of turmoil in these countries.

395 StéphaneHeuetFRThere is the "Readers Digest", but not yet the "Spectators digest".
396 AnonymousAnonymousUSIt would be great to have The Sand Pebbles restored to it's original length and quality. Please give the idea serious consideration, the longer you wait, the less you will have to work with. It's a great film with a great theme song that tells a great story. Money has been spent restoring lesser films, please make this one a priority. Thank you!
