The petition
Samir Kuntar is a Lebanese terrorist who was convicted and sentenced to four life terms in Israeli prison for the 1979 murder of four Israelis. The crime he committed was the most horrific crime ever committed on Israeli soil!
Kuntar was a Lebanese Druze member of the Palestine Liberation Front, a PLO terrorist faction infamous for murdering a wheelchair-bound American Jew on the Achille Lauro cruise-ship. In 1979, Qantar led a group of terrorists from Lebanon to the Israeli seaside town of Nahariya, where they broke into the Haran family's apartment. Kuntar and his gang took the father, Danny Haran, and his 4-year old daughter Einat Haran, hostage. The mother, Smadar Haran, managed to hide in a crawl space with her two-year-old daughter, Yael. According to Smadar: "As I lay there, I remembered my mother telling me how she had hidden from the Nazis during the Holocaust. ''This is just like what happened to my mother,' I thought." In an effort to prevent Yael from crying out and alerting the terrorists to their whereabouts, Smadar kept her hand over the child's mouth, and accidentally smothered her to death. Meanwhile, Kuntar took the father, Danny Haran and 4-year-old daughter, Einat, to the beach where Kuntar personally shot the father in the back, in front of his daughter, and then drowned him in the Mediterranean Sea to finish him off and ensure his death. Next Kuntar took little Einat, laid her down on the rocks of the beach and crushed her little head with the butt of his rifle.
To this very day Kuntar along with two other Lebanese terrorists are in Israeli prison. But his "heroic deeds" have not been forgotten by Hizb'Allah "back home." Kuntar is at the very top of Hizb'Allah's "Most Wanted" (for Release!) list. The fact that Kuntar has never been seriously considered for release and/or exchange by the Israeli government has not dampened their determination. In July 12, 2006 Hizb'Allah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers and demanded the release of Kuntar in exchanged for the soldiers! Israel refused and so began the summer of 2006 war!
When concluded, this petition will be forwarded to the Israeli government as a sincere appeal to never release Samir Kuntar. Kuntar is a cold-blooded, unremorseful killer upon whose hands the blood of four Israelis, Danny and little Einat in particular, will forever remain fresh.
