Anne KirbyThe high cancer rates in the surrounding areas of the Dominion power plant are not acceptable. I support closure of this facility and creation of a greener alternative.

Digna ScottThe plant is toxic and its endangering our communities, the revenues for the city of Salem do not compensate our health risks. CLOSE THE PLANT!

Michael MaddenLets embrace renewable energy sources and close this toxic chapter of energy production. The world is more technologically advanced now and we can easily replace the Salem power plant with wind turbines to generate electricity or redevelop the area as proposed. More importantly however is the health of our citizens. As such we must do what we can to stop this insane polluter of our air.

William AckermanIt is disgusting that in 2008 we still have this plant knowingly polluting the skies above the beautiful coastline. It is an eye sore and a health risk

AnonymousIt must be nice to be a rich banker trying to close a plant in complete compliance with the laws. I think marble headers are an eye sore on the planet
pamela newberryStop that filthy harmful plant now.
Kay CampbellWe are far beyond justification of coal burning plants & knowingly further damaging our planet & our bodies in such a blatant way - Yes we can make the changes - we want healthy environments, a halt to unnecessary suffering, and positive quality of life!!!

Caroline BegreenThe statistics of cancer rate in the area are very scary - that is my main concern. But not only do we not need the health risks, that could be a fabulous, beautiful addition to the Salem Harbor front. It could be a huge boost for the City. Close the plant now. Make Salem the jewel of the North Shore.

Daniel HayesPLEASE CLOSE THIS DISGUSTING, DIRTY PLANT AND REPLACE IT WITH SOME WIND TURBINES. This would also create new jobs!!!!!!!!

David GillespieAs a concerned homeowner living in Marblehead, it seems only obvious that having a coal burning plant less than a mile away would be a major health risk. In addition, it seems amazing to me that it continues to operate when the prevailing tradewinds carry the smoke, soot and toxins to the east, directly over Marblehead. Therefore, I support the movement to close the plant down and seek electricity via another regional grid system.

Deborah SmithPlease, close the Salem Power Plant.

Maureen BarillaroThe state needs to stand up to these energy companies. Our health is the priority and the coal plant will be under water in 25 years anyway if it continues to spew carbon in the air. It was time to close it 10 years ago- lets do it now!
