| 1901 | DARRELL CUNNINGHAM | Although I am a motorist we need to step back and stop ruined our heritage for the sake of a few miles of wide fast road. |
| 1902 | Mr Paul Spencer | Of course alternative routes could be used but instead of this, these..."planners" decide it would be a good idea to hack a road right through a highly historic site, enjoyed by many, with total disregard for those individuals, not to mention disrespect for the Second World War soldiers who were based there.
This is typical of twenty-first century "I-got-my-degree-two-years-ago" type of thinking. No doubt these same "planners" would be more than keen to back a ludicrous modernist monument upon a local roundabout somewhere, wasting taxpayer funds along with scenic beauty to boot, yet have no respect or regard for an English historic site. A total disgrace, and a reflection of what Great Britain is coming to. Money will the at the back of it of course.
You have my 100% backing in your petition, Rougham Airfield. |
| 1903 | Anonymous | A great sham to have such a historic site ruined by a development which could be rerouted further away |
| 1904 | Martin Davies | We visit Rougham Tower on a regular basis and would be very disappointed if the proposed road project went ahead. |

| 1907 | Nigel Powis | Words fail me at this time. This nation is very quickly imploding. |
| 1908 | Thomas England | |
| 1909 | J Lee | Building this road will destroy the second runway, which will limit the use of the airfield to only those days when the wind is favorable for the remaining runway. There is also a safefy issue as visiting pilots will enevitably push their luck on cross wind landings which exceed either their abilty or those of their aircraft. |

| 1911 | Michael R. Baker | Any responsible Authority should see that poorly planned development and the piece by piece destruction of valuable open space is very short sited . No doubt the concerns of the general population are not being considered. Nothing is more valuable for the community than open space , especially sites of historic significance such as Rougham Airfield . To be of value to the community the space needs to be maintained free of unsympathetic development.
Bury St. Edmunds Local Authority appears to have a very poor record in regard to the treatment of Rougham.
Please think again. |
| 1912 | Graham Stroud | I strongly object to the proposed relief road |

| 1915 | kevin clark | i have been taking part in rougham events since 1994,a beautiful and peaceful place, the people who want this road through here should walk around after one of the shows and feel the atmosphere.leave this last haven alone, they have had all the others.regards, kevin clark. |

| 1918 | David B Birch | |
| 1919 | Neville Bower | Please please respect all those U S airmen who gave or risked their lives whilst flying from Rougham Field during World War 2 and do NOT let this by-pass go ahead in such close proximity to this "Sacred" site. |

| 1922 | Claire Armstrong | I am appalled at the intention to disregard the sanctuary of the WWII buildings for a road !
These buildings must be preserved !
There is an MOD survey re-evaluating all WWII sites and MANY are now being raised in preservation.
PLEASE check with them.
Surely the road and skirt around this whole area ?
Why ruin a precious location? Makes no sense to me!
Regards, Claire |
