Anonymous | Once again big business is trying to destroy forever some of our British Heritage. There is always a way to prevent this wanton vandalism and maintain the function of this airfield.
Richard Incoll | Airfields such as Rougham are wonderful spaces for recreation and fitting memorials to so many brave young people who sacrificed so much for the preservation of a free world. The proposed road would not only cut across one of the runways, but would also come unacceptably close to the Control Tower which is Grade II listed building and part of the memorial that this airfield is to the US airmen of based here in WW2. Show some repect for the past and preserve it for future generations.
CHARLES BAILEY | Please use the yellow route as described and not again destroy our history purely for economies of scale.
A J Blumfield |
Rich Hopcroft |
Mrs G Streets | It is not right ,How do these things get passed I wish you well and hope you win!!
Michael S Hall
Michelle Maaske | My grandfather was based in the 94th bomb group and we are planning to add a plaque to the existing memorial in rememberence. Please keep what is left to the memory of the 94th bomb group.
Mike Clark |
Martin Geoffrey Wright | Airfields of this nature are under constant threat of this kind from developers who are only interested in their commercial success at the expense of the local population and facilities they enjoy, It would appear to be another proposal led by local politicians who are not representative of the residents.

David Lynn |
| 1817 | John M. Howard | My father lived on the air base at Bury St. Edmonds for three years during WWII, and has since passed on, leaving me to speak for him.
Please consider the alternate road route which will leave this airfield intact. Thank you. |
Andrew Dennis | More and more historic airfields are dissppearing under industrial estates, or new housing developments, soon there will be very little of this heritage left, as all councils deem them to be superfluous and irrelevant.
Anonymous | any road or building which spoils or hinders the airfield is very sad.
Anonymous | These sights need to be looked after not ruined.
Roger Davison | Why would anyone want to contribitrute to the part distruction of this area for the sake of a little bit of forsight and planning . Will our future generations not need areas such as this for the pursuit of hobbies and recreation ? The very people that will be housed in the new housing being developed.

MARTYN WATNEY |
Anonymous | This is yet another waste of public money which could be put to better use rather than another road when we cannot even repair the road network we already have. £8 million pounds needed to repair the roads in this country at present, repair them instead and make everybody just a little bit happier.
Jonathan Blewett |
Roger Yallop | It is incredible that the nameless, faceless people who make decisions that affect other (non-nameless or faceless) people just do not listen anymore.
Alan Reeves | This is a WWII historical site with which deserves the deep respect and memory of the airmen that gave their lives far away from their homelands for our country to remain free. The proposed road development can surely be re-routed to keep this site as a permanent memorial for remembrance.
Anonymous | The U.K. has lost more historic sites, and places used for entertainment then is reasonable! Stop this stupidity for the sake of having some history left for our kids. And for the pleasure this site brings for all those who visit or attend events here.
James Hale | both the airfield and the road can be accomodated by the yellow line proposal from Rougham, or concider an altenative to keep the airfield surley this can be achived?

Anonymous | Here is a part of our nations heritage. to jeopadise it in any way is an insult to those men who made it possible for us to firstly survive and exist. this airfield can and will be a great asset in the future. do not let this airfield join all the rest of our lost history.

Dave Withey |
Brooke McKivison Seigrist
Tony Prior |
Emma Cogger | It would be discriminating to put a road so close to this tower which is much more than a Grade II listed building. It represents everything that has been done for this country and is a living memorial. We cannot possible allow this to happen surely?
Tony Kufel | Please move route of road so as to avoid this public amenity
Anonymous | Please reconsider the alternative route for the rougham industrial estate relief road. i actually thought that the new a14 junction had done this and there was no longer a need for alternative routes now that traffic can exit and enter from this point!
Anonymous | If the A14 is not sufficient to hold the volume of traffic in this area at least out the road in a place that is both practical and agreeable to local residents!
shaun forsdike | it will be a real shame if they go ahead with the the proposed plan and ruin the rougham airfield
Dean Hendricks | There is already a perfectly good dual carriageway road, recently modernised at great public expense to cope with modern day traffic. The cleaving in two of this historcally important site should not be allowed to happen at any cost!
David Marriott | All those fields and as usual cut straight through something that is important. Well done!
Dean Burnett | Why build a road across this historical airfield when there are excisting roads near by that could be improved!?!
Mr J Iszard | We must consider recreational facilities when add infrastructure, otherwise we will have all the housing, all the roads, but nowhere to relax!
