Justin TuijlKeep the airfield as it is please
john owensbeing a ga pilot myself we are finding that beatiful airfields like this are slowly being erradicated by people in position of temperory power!! who do not understand and are so short sighted and blinkered that they just do not think of the future generations to come!!! save the airfield Please!!!!
Tim O'BrienFight it and stop it. This is another example of of local authority mandarins justifying their salaries by proving how much money they can save at whatever cost to others. G.A airfields are getting scarcer.

Roger KirbyI think all efforts to keep this airfield "as is" is mandatory
Simon Hildrop
Alan weirThe impact of the proposed new road on a site of such historical significance as well as on a cherished amenity needs to be considered with significant sympathy. A solution that is amicable to all parties is surely the way ahead even if this is at a cost - we all know from bitter experience that the lowest tender is usually the least best solution!
Elizabeth EldridgeThe alternative route favoured by the supporters is surely the best, the historical importance and peace of the memorial should be paramount.
Matthew MildinhallI wholeheartidly oppose the councils preffered route for the Rougham relief route. It makes sense to transform the former airfield dirt tracks that run from the side of Thos. Ridleys towards the new Royal Mail sorting office on Skyliner way.
Barry CookObviously, this goverment has no respect for any kind of history! Just obsessed with concrete, with no thought about what it will effect
Martyn EnglishAs a private pilot I do not want to see another wartime airfield with so much history concreted over with roads and what will eventually be another giant housing estate. Also not forgetting the many brave young men who served this country during the war and sacrificed so much to be forgotten if this popular venue is lost forever.

steve hucklesbywhy is every one intent on destroying our history and anything to do with/?
Peter RolfeIt would be a great shame to divide the airfield site in two with the proposed relief road. An alternative route must be considered to protect Rougham Airfield for future generations.
geoffrey robert toddIn my opinion the airfield the airfield should be conserved for the enjoyment and use of future generations, and especially the museum
AnonymousPlease do not build the road that cuts the airfield - no reason with the alternative proposal whihc skirts the perimeter.
Glen Blackwell
Anonymousi think it would be a great shame if this road goes ahead as we would lose a family resource that has been enjoyed by many generations and hopefully will continued to be enjoyed by generations to come.

Trevor CaponThis road should not be put through this great historic airfield, this is part of our history and should be left for us and future genorations to enjoy.

AnonymousThe dignity and tranquilityof the memorial to our saviours in the second World War should be left untarnished by bland commercialism
Scott RobertsHow dare they do this? Use an ALTERNATE ROUTE AND DO NOT DISRUPT AND DESTROY THIS AIRFIELD AND ITS HISTORY! History is not yours to destroy for a few Pounds...
Joe Van EschenPlease do not let this road go through. There are very few places like this left in the world.
John Camp
Anita MillerMy Dad was stationed here during WWII and I visited here in 2004 with my husband. We had a lovely time visiting with some locals dedicated to the Tower. We got to raise the American flag for a group that was visiting by bus. I also helped serve tea. What a fantastic place. I'd hate to see the road as proposed go through.
GARY SURPLICEAnother part of our history under threat yet again when will the so called people in charge learn from their mistakes and leave some memorials to the brave men who laid down there lives so we can live free in this so called Great Britain, tends to lead to the question was is worth it for them just to have a road run through their base and memories .Shame on them all who even put this idea onto paper how can they sleep at night? oh i know on fat wads of cash i suppose.
G E AllenThe historical importance of ex-WW2 airfields and associated memorials must receive due consideration in the planning process in the memory of the those brave airmen who gave their lives for our freedom!
Cllr. David CottonWe need to protect the heritage of the past for the future
Lee JamesI feel that the historic interest of Rougham airfield and it's surrounding area will be seriously damaged with the new road. This airfield is still in use and therefore the new road should be sited elsewhere.
AnonymousHave visited the tower and memorial. Very well presented. Many of these sites are now being obliterated and due consideration should now be given to preserving what is left.

mrs s youngman
Robert Batey
Chris TimmerI hope this road will never be build there. I is a great shame that a peace of the History of this airfield will be demolished for a road. There is to much demolished for the future. STOP THIS, PLEASE
Jane CoffeyWhy oh why does this route have to trample through a memorial site, and a fantastic green space enjoyed by the community. There has to come a point when there are so many houses and roads, nobody will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of green space and fresh air anywhere in the South East.
Ian WilliamsI feel that the road should NOT encroach on the Airfield and Museum, an alternative should be sought.
Tony Bramleyplease consider the historic interest that Rougham airfield has and consider an alternative route rather than across the airfield.
Graham R GuinnThis road running across the airfield is not acceptable.

David LindsellIgnoring our history is a national disgrace. An alternative MUST be used.

ALAN WAUGHThis must stop.
Captain Richard KeechTo despoil this wonderful and listed aviation heritage site by yet another road is insensitive folly, especially when an alternative option is readily available.
