Bernard Martyn WillsThe need to damage this historic site could easily be avoided, and I appeal for consideration to be given to doing this
Mr.David PileI would be greatly saddened were the road to be approved, the sanctity of the site should be maintained t all costs. The alternative route is surely the best and only option.
Tom DrakeIt is vital that this site, which is both a local amenity and part of the heritage of Suffolk be protected. I urge planning authority to adopt the route proposed by supporters of the tower and the airfield.

Pat DowdellMy involvement in the memorial dedicated to the United States Men and Women who served at Rougham field has just begun. I am the niece of Sgt. Alma Henry Glick who died in service to my country and to yours. I cannot imagine a road being so important as to infringe upon a remaining tribute to on those who gave their life. I encourage you to consider other options in order to maintain the significance of this spiritual resting place. Thank you.
Everett ShortMany men flew out of Rougham in the effort to defeat the Nazis. Many including my second cousin , Henry Alma Glick, lost their lives in the conflict. The Rougham memorial, established at this late date seems appropriate and I and others would appreciate it's preservation as a sacred and fitting site in recognition of those who lost their lives and others who struggled there.
Richard Nel
James F. ShortThis would be a good opportunity for the British government to demsonstrate respect for the collective and individual sacrifice made be the United States and it's boys during WWII. My great uncle Alma Henry Glick lost his life aboard the Struggle Buggy on April 21, 1945.
Captain W. G. Ryals, USN-RetI visited Rougham airfield/tower in September 2005. It would be a terrible injustice to the men who flew out of this airfield if a road was cut through this historical site. My wife lost a relative flying out of Rougham on a B-17 over Germany. Surely the pople in the local area would want to honor those who fought and died to save their country by not disturbing the area with a road.

Martin BathoNot having visited yet, however here is another typical example of english heritage being eroded. to satisfy the masses. it is a sad day!!
Margene Van Liew
Andrew MacdonaldI'm disgusted but not surprised that yet another Wartime airfield is under threat. Considering the incredible significance of these places and the courage that occured on many such airfields, it is staggering that virtually none have been preserved....except by a few small bands of dedicated individuals....Thank god for such people.

Mr S.a.chappellThis airfield and especially the kite flying has brought great pleasure to me over the years. and the anual festival attracts the greatest kite flyer from around the world to rougham. this is an amazing event for the bury st edmunds area and kites have a very low carbon footprint, unlike your stinking cars and your filthy road.
sophia ruizsave our historic places what our children's , children can vist...............
Ian ThornAs a visitor to the varied events held on the airfield over many years I fear this could be the first step towards the loss of this historicaly important site. Please reconsider the route of this new road and allow a successful venue to continue to provide entertaining events for all.
marmanStop this road from being built!
Robert E. L. BarlexAlthough my fiancee and I live in Essex, we are regular supporters of flying events at Rougham and appreciate the hard work of the volunteers. This historic airfield must not be allowed to go the way so many others have gone. As a nation we should be encouraging the preservation of our aviation heritage as well the aviation community in general.
John UnderwoodAs a regular visitor and exhibitor to Rougham, I am appauled by the decision to build the relief road on the proposed route which will have such a devastating effect up this historic airfield which is so highly respected as a living museum for the benefit of us all.
Martin DoveyI strongly object to the proposed route of this road. It will irreparably damage what is a great recreational asset to the area.

Paul OsborneYet another great British airfield under threat from an inconsiderate council.
K A MooreArrange for the US servicemen who served at Rougham, and their survivors and decendants, to pledge never to buy anything British in future if the road is build such as to ruin Rougham as is.
Peter WoodDo not let us loose another bit of our heritage
AnonymousI feel strongly that this is a memorial and a place to keep clear for celebration and remembrance.
Nikki WoltonThis road will affect all users of the airfield young & Old alike. we would like to see the site which is part of our herratige and history left so the next generation will be able to injoy it as so many of us before have.

David A.G.FrostAny road that cuts into Rougham airfield is an intrusion to existing historic facilities which should be preserved for the use of all interested parties. The yellow alternative on picture seems to solve the problem - if the poweres that be were to listen to common sense.

Gerald GreatrixThis is a historical site & should not be viaolated by the new road
Cheryl O'Keefe
David McArthurI have particpated in the annual Kite Featival and believe the proposed road would ruin the site.
Dean Dennis ProudfootThe alternative route is fair and equitable.
AnonymousPLEASE! In memory of the servicemen who walked these sacred grounds for the last time before flying their final mission, don't defile their memory with roads and divisions of the property. My uncle was one of them. The memory of him and many others, needs to lie undisturbed here!

Darryl WhitpenOnce again it seems there is no such thing in this day and age as respect for those who lost or put there lives on the line for our future. This country has lost all it that it once stood for. There must be an end to this destruction .
