This petition is here to urge President Bush and the United States Congress NOT to reinstate the draft. I feel that enlisting in the military should be a voluntary act and NOT mandatory. NOBODY in my opinion should be forced into a situation they don't believe in or don't want to be involved with. To impose this sort of involuntary servitude on the American people is just plain wrong and it steals away the freedom of the people to choose their own fate. Bottom line, in 1973 the draft ended and the United States converted to an All-Volunteer military. This is the way I think it should remain forever! NO DRAFT! |
