| 23 | Douglas May | SRV is the greatest hometown hero Dallas has ever produced! Let's honor him. |
| 24 | Tom Blackwood | Please allow us to vote for Stevie Ray Vaughan boulevard as one of the new names for Industrial. It would be nice for Dallas to show support for an artist instead of business people or politicos. |

| 28 | Chris Hecke | SRV is the only name that should be considered. |

| 31 | Rachel Everson | What better to get everyone back in the spirit of bringing the heart and soul (the music) back to Dallas!
Whether you are a local Dallas Texan, or you simply loved it here too much to go back to where you came from; people are PROUD to be a part of the celebrity of Stevie Ray Vaughn! The man's music is infectious!
In my opinion, changing Industrial Blvd to Stevie Ray Vaughn Blvd will speak volumes to people.
It will let people know that the City of Dallas is PROUD to honor the man kids call thier (guitar) hero. The man is a HISTORICAL ICON, what more could one person accomplish?
Renaming the BLVD says our city is in tune with it's youth, listens to the people they helped raise into an educated adult, & above all, honors and pays tribute to those who have accomplished things most of us only dream about while we hug our pillow!
It would bring the heart back to Dallas...even if all the money is still going to Ft. Worth. We don't care about that...we care about Stevie Ray Vaughn.
I beg to question you......
What music venue wouldn't want to showcase aspiring bands on Stevie Ray Vaughn Blvd?!
What musician wouldn't want to play on Stevie Ray Vaughn BLVD?!?
Or even brag that they got discovered his Stevie Ray Vaughn Blvd?!?
It could bring SO MUCH life to this city thats struggling for a heartbeat.
Musicians don't have a home anymore. Wouldn't it feel good to aid them in thier good fight for a home base?
Austin has Sixth St.
Memphis has Beale St.
Dallas has.....oh thats right, we have nothing.
The proud people of Oak Cliff fought with the Austinites for his body and his soul to stay in the city he was born to.
Is it so much to ask for a Street name to be changed from meaning nothing to meaning SOMETHING?
If that whole spill doesn't inspire you at all...don't you even think "Stevie Ray Vaughn BLVD" plain just has a better ring to it than anything that dare challenge it? |
