I hadn't seen the current skatepark until relatively recently, but when I did I was appalled at how inadequate it is, being too small for a start. I've seen toddler's playgrounds that are much bigger. The young people of Southport deserve better. |

| 165 | craig pritchard | i dont live in southport and only travel there to go to the airshows, however when i have been there i have seen the state of the skatepark, i am a veteran skateboarder myself (11 years or so) and seeing such a poorly maintained park is poor. Also introducing a ban law on skating isnt exactly helping, if you ban a sport from being performed on the streets then you must provide an area to perform freely |

| 185 | Tom Perry | i think you sould give us the skaters and bmx's of southport a better skatepark as it would be better and the council iam sure have had alot of complaints about skaters and bmx's proforming tricks and skating/rideing in the streets this is because the skatepark just isnt big anoth or good anoth also it would increase the popularity of southport witch inturn would mean more people spending more money in southport so the council will also be making money out of this but the council souldnt charge the skaters they would make money through people buying stuff in southport so you sould seriously make a new skatepark |

| 199 | Simon Thorley | Southport used to have a really decent concrete skatepark in the 70's, and a few wooden ramps next to a pier isn't good enough, people there really should look at what Crawley, Bridlington, Saffron Waldon and now Andover are doing, a mixture of Transition and street is the way forward here...it would help bring in tourism aswell as satisfy the locals too...cheap parks are a false economy! |
