philip allen | Important to keep these items of art. Good for the area, good for the UK. It is not unusual that in the Uk we spend a lot of money on 'art' that is anything but. But in the case of this exhibition it means something different to different people.
C Estall-Hewett | I saw the artwork Another Place on the BBC's Coast series, how beautiful it looks and although we live in Hertfordshire I would definately be visiting Crosby beach to see this fantastic exhibit with my family. We visited the Angel of the North last year on our travels and it was extremely thought provoking. It would be a shame to remove such a talked about collection of art.
Barry Bright | please do not let this installation leave Liverpool.

CHRISSIE SMITH | An area of coast that was special to the dog walkers, fishermen and coastguards has been transformed into an area that attracts a wider audience of people.Once there these statues entertain young and old, they pose questions in your mind and they certainly have helped a species of barnacle. How amazing to be able to get close to sculpture and to gaze upon the responses other people make to these iron men. What an empty place that beach will be without them

Anonymous | Have never been to Crosby but am specifically going as part of ouir christmas celebrations with three generatyionsof the family. Hope there's somewhjere to eat and drink nearby!
Mark Foster | These statues represent art at it's highest level. They are made as people for the people and should not be moved until everyone who can see them gets to see them. We have only just learnt of their existence via the TV programme Coast and now when we get the oppurtunity we will visit them. Please keep them in Britain, if they must be moved then put them somewhere they can still be seen by the British Public but do not interfere with anyone else. I'm sure that Anthony Gormley's other sculptures would not be given away that easily. Long Live British Art.....

Anonymous | Capital of Culture 2008 and Sefton Council want to remove a major piece of art in 2007!! Keep the statues and sack the council!! Liverpool and Merseyside need more atractions to compete with other major cities in Europe, don't let PC busy bodies getin the way.
Anonymous | keep them.
kit_frost@hotmail.com | keep another place in place at crosby beach

Laura Peake | only visited today (30/12/06) but wish i had been to see them in the summer too! they're amazing & need to be kept where they belong - crosby beach! fantastic!
Anonymous | I will personally chain myself to these statues rather than see them go!
Anita Lawrie | Please keep the sculptures for as long as possible. As an occasional visitor to Merseyside, it is one of the most impressive scenes I have witnessed.

Daniel Foster | My Mom and Dad took me to see the statues on 28/12/2006 for my twelth Birthday and I thought they were fantastic. Please keep them at Crosby Beach so that i can bring my children to see them in years to come.
Anne Metcalfe | It is breathtaking .....as is the Angel of the North. I agree it would be like shooting yourself in the foot if it was removed before Liverpool enjoys its Capital of Culture year....
Anonymous | Fantastic piece of art, keep it in Crosby!!
Sandra Freeman | These statues are our sole reason for travelling to Liverpool from London
Elaine Carter | Please save these statues for Merseyside. A monument and landmark to be preserved and to encourage future ideas!
Frank Torr | I went to see it because I thought that there would be something amusing about 100 cast iron statues facing out to sea. I'm not sure what I felt when I saw it - but it cetainly wasn't amusement. I honestly think that Crosby council would be crazy to let it go.
Victoria Green | I have wanted to visit "Another Place" for a while now and I finally managed to yesterday and I was not dissapointed. The instillation took my breath away, I felt so lucky to be able to experience this wonderful piece of art and could have spent all day looking at it. I think that it should definatly remain in Crosby especially as the city will be the capital of culture. It would be a tragedy if the art moved as I think everyone should be able to access this.
| 632 | sally cockbaine | This is a haunting display which surely must stay as a permanent feature of this beautiful beach.
Save the statues for the people! |

F M Carleton | Unlike much modern art, Antony Gormley's work is both visually and intellectually accessible. It has an immediate appeal to a broad cross section of society, being at once fun and thought provoking. Positioned on a beach, subject to the changing moods of the sea and weather, we have a piece of art that will not tire us with over familiarity.
David Ransley | This magnificent sculptural installation is an outstanding piece of public art and must be saved if only to enhance the image of Liverpool in the run-up to its year as European City of Culture 2008.
Mark Boyle | They look realy good and I think they should stay put.
James Bainbridge |
John Roberts | I think that it would be a tragedy for Liverpool to lose a World class art work as 2008 approaches and the city will be the European Capital of Culture.
| 641 | Anonymous | Please tell me how this two million pounds will be spent on maintenance.
I have never seen anyone maintaining these statues and I visit Crosby beach regularly. |
Rachel Leyland | It would be such a shame to lose the sculptures, especially in the run up to the 'City of Culture' celebrations.
catherine allen | Desperately want to see these statues and show them to our children but we live in the South East. We are coming up north for our summer holidays in August and really want to see them then. Hope this campaign is successful!
Keith McLean |
geoff kenworthy | yes i beleuve this to be a must for the area, for all the reasons given, absolutely wonderful

Anonymous | This is the most innovative and passionate piece of artwork I have seen in many years and across many continents. With London becoming European Capital of Culture in 2008 it is unthinkable to remove it before then! Go visit Spain and see how their cities' art is supported by local government. Let's try it in the UK!
Anonymous | Keep it in Britain
Anonymous | Keep it here and please sign petition.
