Petition to the Bridgeport City Council:

We, the concerned residents of Bridgeport and its surrounding communities, believe that it is in the best interests of the city to support the continued use of 512 Hancock Avenue as the NEST artist lofts. We believe that any other use of this building will be detrimental to the quality of life in Bridgeport and to its revitalization. We do not want you to deprive us of a unique organization which has provided affordable workspace for area artists, much needed gallery space for the region, public gathering spaces for the exchange of ideas, and extraordinary and innovative free entertainment for the city's residents.

Both the City of Bridgeport and the State of Connecticut must start investing in the arts in Bridgeport. The city in particular must establish a plan for the development of the arts in the city and cease developments that negatively impact the arts community until such plans are implemented.
