The government has recently unveiled plans for increasing airport capacity across the UK. One of their proposals is to build a brand new airport in the Midlands. This would be at least as big as Heathrow airport and have as many as 60 million passengers each year.
In order to build this airport two beautiful, historical villages and 1400 hectares of un-spoiled green-belt land will have to be razed to the ground. Many people will lose their homes and jobs. Businesses will fail and part of Britain will disappear forever.
