The city has finalized the plans to build our dog run at Bellevue Park South. It is heartening to see how our collective request for accessible community space shaped the outcome. We will keep a close watch on the construction process to ensure this area truly serves every neighbor.

Kips Bay really needs a dog run and we've got just the place for it: Bellevue Park South! Located between 1st and 2nd Ave at 28th street, this hidden Kips Bay gem is ready for a few updates. Sponsored by Councilwoman Rosie Mendez and the NYC Parks Dept, this petition supports the creation and maintenance of a fully ADA compliant dog run to meet the needs of ALL the canine and human citizens of our diverse and wonderful neighborhood. In order to demonstrate community support for this project, we need 1000 signatures! Please click the "Sign Now" button to bring a wag to the tails of Fido and Laz, and all the dogs, big and small of Kips Bay!

Long overdue. In the '70s, there was a dog run on first avenue across from NYUMC, which I think was replaced by parking garage.

Finally! An accessible dog park! I would love it if the southern "tween/teen park w/slides, climbing area be transformed for a dog park for everyone! Many people with disabilities can’t use our dog parks now. It would be wonderful if we had a dog park that was big enough and accessible to everyone. Please make sure it is big enough so several people with wheelchairs could bring their dogs and have room to play.

My neighborhood NEEDS this feature tofacilitate all the residents who have dogs for dog run. It will further humanize the neighborhood which now is filled with Bars, a medical Center, a homeless shelter and brand name corporate shopping.

We need a dog park for all breeds, especially pit bulls. Not all parks allow them because of the stigma attached to them. My daughter has a beautiful 2yr old pit who is a sweetheart, loves dogs and kids. This would be a wonderful asset to the neighborhood and for pet parents.

Accessible parks are particularly important for many individuals. I have M.S. Others with this, and other diseases/conditions that require accessibility keep us out of other parks. You would be serving the community in more ways than you can know!

and it'd be great to have separate sections for large and small dogs as other runs do to ensure safety when playing
