| 1306 | Chris | Cameron | | CA | I've been in jail many times in British Columbia, Canada and I've met quite a few inmates who were wrongfully convited of a crime. The justice system here I thought was pathetic, but after seeing how the justice system is run in the USA, I think that Canada is a country club. I mean like in the USA in a lot of states there's that 3 strikes and you're out rule. I'd be in jail for life if I lived in the USA. The USA has to change their laws and length of sentences to those who are convicted of a crime. In Richard Cartwright's case he was supposed to go back for a second trial and the fucking morons lost the DNA, plus there was no hard evidence to prove his conviction of being guilty. I didn't know him and I didn't read his case thoroughly, but I can say this and that's if he didn't do it and knew who did, well then I give him all the respect in the world, as would any solid inmate on this planet would. As I hate fucking rats. So, if Mr. Cartwright was innocent then this is yet another case where an innocent inmate has been wrongfully convicted, but in a greater sense in his case, he was wrongfully executed. Now if he was guilty then I still think that the death penalty should be banned from our society. My reason is that all inmates who are found guilty and sentenced can appeal it and hopefully get a new trial to be set free. The criminals who are molestors, rapists and those who kill children should not get the death penalty, but should rot in a cell that is 4 X 4 and never see the light of day ever again. I'd rather see those types suffer than get the easy way out, which is the death penalty. |
