The petition
We the members of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals [ICAP], the members of ICAP’s sponsoring organizations, independent Illinois licensed appraisers, and other industry related professionals attach our names to this petition in support of retaining Mike Brown as Director of the Appraisal Division of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations.
Mr. Brown’s knowledge of the appraisal profession, his understanding of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), the Appraisal Qualification Board’s criteria, Illinois Appraisal Law, as well as his ability to remain objective when working with the various personalities within our appraisal community, should reinforce his capabilities as Director. Mr. Brown has an excellent working relationship with ICAP, their sponsoring organizations; the Appraisal Institute, the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, the American Society of Appraisers, the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, the National Association of Master Appraisers and with independent Illinois licensed appraisers. He is highly respected in Illinois by licensed appraisers for his knowledge, leadership, and guidance. Mr. Brown has been a valuable asset to the appraisal industry, not only in Illinois, but also influential representing our State’s interests on a national level.
On behalf of the appraisal industry in Illinois, we ask the Governor, the Secretary of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations and the Director of the Department of Professional Regulations to retain Mike Brown as the Director of the Appraisal Division of DPR.
