14 AnonymousIt is pure and simple: if Ares 1 with solids as first stage (also known as Scotty Rocket of Scott Horowitz) was really that good of an idea, then industry would have done it already. People at MSFC keep saying that Ares does not want to be a rocket but they salute the bill payer because NASA, after all, is a jobs program.
