Think, Middletown School District Board of Education, think of how you could organize a great bonfire in front of Middletown High, and joyfully burn all the Renaissance paintings or their photos you can lay your hands on! Then the paintings of the next centuries are just as offensive. What about literature, this is your children's damnation ! Go on! burn the books! Did you realize that the statue of Liberty's breasts can be seen through her toga, you should have it covered with a thicker coat of metal. Make sure biology is forbidden in your schools. Prevent all forms of connection with the internet, sanitize your Bibles, Lot and his daughters are quite objectionable, The Song of Songs is hardly any better, you should be much better at bowdlerizing than me. One of your next step should be to prohibit swimming and demolish the pool. Finally why not putting a stop to coeducation and veil your daughters?
I am 60, when I was 15, I went to an evening Art School to take a drawing class that did include nude models, I was the youngest and there was only another female student. There was absolutely no embarrassment. One day a new model lacked sense of propriety: WE, THE STUDENTS kicked him out! I have been a language teacher for quite a few years and I uphold that young people are far more sensible and have a better judgment than many of their elders.
When art and the human body are viewed as a potential source of embarrassment then some parents and senior members of the Board should be educated, they failed their mission.
LEARN TO TRUST THE YOUNG, THEY ARE FAR LESS SEXE-OBSESSED THAN THE ADULTS THEMSELVES.
And the few who are, inherited it from their parents. |

I am in college, and I take life drawing, and have taken it more than a few times. Frankly, I avoid taking such classes when the instructor DOESN'T use nude models. Learning to draw the human figure is probably the single most important thing an artist can possibly do. It was done in the rennaissance, it was done in Roman times, and it was done in the 18th, 19th, and 20th century. Now, somebody wants to stop it? Just like free speech, no one will EVER be able to stop it. Prudes from the religious right have no business whatsoever forcing their primitive belief system on anyone else. Promoting such behaviour will only lead to more book burnings, more hate crimes, and ultimately, more people being burned at the stake. How dare anyone tell some one else that they can't have their job because of the sexual backwardness of some simple minded people. STOP IT! Artists NEED to do life drawing. Without it, who will paint the next wonderful painting of Madonna? Or of Liz Taylor? This is a travesty, and it should be punishable by law. DO NOT take this man's job. He is only doing what a professional should do: be honest with his students, and promote the education of up and coming talent. He is onoly expressing the views of each and every artist that ever lived.
Stop the insanity! Let him have his job back NOW!
