Reinstate Fr. John Petition

Dear Friends and Family of Fr. John we ask that you support his reinstatement by joining our petition.

42 YEARS AS A PRIEST AND 19 YEARS AS A PASTOR

On May 13th, he was falsely accused, cast on the street, and all communications where shut off. That night he described to us the embarrassment of not knowing where he would get a razor to shave or if he could go back to the church and retrieve clothes that he had forgotten.

HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN

After years of working with literally thousands of people and families, an uninvestigated letter to the Archdiocese from a source with questionable financial motives accused Fr. John of an abuse.

CHURCH IN CRISIS - NO LONGER PRESUMES INNOCENCE

The Diocese has obviously been weakened in spirit and capacities over the last few years with accusations of misconduct crippling the institution. As a result, not every one in the Diocese has vigorously defended the values of the priesthood. Falsely accused priests are often assumed guilty or not worthy of a defense because of the political and financial liability. We have recently discovered that they are sometimes not even worthy of open and honest communication.

Decisions have been made to appease the viscous appetites of mass media, attorneys, and those in our communities advocating revenge against the church.

WHO SUFFERS

The COMMUNITY loses the tireless energies and human advocacy of Fr. John. It sends a signal to young people that if they choose the PRIESTHOOD they too could be targets, and the catholic church may not be steadfast in defending their ministry, no matter how many thousands of people would stand up in their defense. Obviously, FR. JOHN suffers, a humble man and honest servant of the church.

FATHER JOHN

Father John is a special person in thousands and thousands of people’s hearts, for his 52 nieces and nephews, his students at Cardinal Spellman, and his parish in Somerville. He was the uniting spiritual influence that we could always turn to and he would never turn his back on someone in need of help, guidance, or support.
