We, the undersigned legal Americans, request and demand that the Legislative and Executive branches of The United States Government resign themselves from constructing and enforcing legislation concerning the issues of Amnesty and Border Security until it receives the results of a National Referendum, put forth before the citizens of the United States; in which both chambers of Congress and the Executive branch must abide by it's results and declare that it is the will of the People.
We, the undersigned, request the following Yes or No questions be brought forth in a National Referendum:
1. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would grant Amnesty to those persons who are illegal non-citizens of The United States of America; illegally present within the borders of The United States of America, a sovereign state, and all of her territories and possessions?
2. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would grant to those persons who are illegal non-citizens of The United States, a “Guest Worker” permit or visa, to come and go into The United States of America for the purposes of employment and eventual citizenship?
3. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would offer to those persons who are illegal non-citizens of The United States of America the chance of citizenship if they have been within the borders of The United States of America for any period of time since Amnesty was granted in the year of 1986?
4. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America enforce all current immigration laws and seek out and deport all illegal non-citizens currently within the borders of The United States of America and all territories and possessions therein?
5. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America enhance and enforce current laws regarding the hiring of those persons who are illegal non-citizens of The United States of America by all businesses, whether small or large, via criminal charges, fines, court costs and jail time?
6. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation to make English the official language of The United States of America and conduct all business of the federal government within the confines of The United States of America in English?
7. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation to add an additional 30,000 to 50,000 Border Patrol agents to the current number of Border Patrol agents in existence?
8. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation to construct a non-invisible physical wall on the southern border of The United States of America from the Pacific Coast to the Gulf Coast which would be enhanced with technologically advanced surveillance equipment?
9. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would add Border Security of The United States of America to the National Guard’s mission to include surveillance and apprehension of illegal non-citizens of The United States of America?
10. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would allow individual States to recoup all costs associated with illegal immigrants from the Federal Government of The United States unless those states contain "sanctuary" sites, towns, cities, villages, etc., and/or those states provide any aid/funding to any illegal non-citizen for any reason?
11. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would revoke citizenship of those persons born to illegal persons while on American soil and henceforth prevent any person from receiving automatic citizenship from birth while on American soil unless one of the parents of said newly born person is a citizen of The United States of America?
12. Shall the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of The United States of America construct, enforce and uphold legislation that would make it a Federal Felony to be in The United States of America illegally, whether it be over staying a Visa or crossing into The United States illegally by any means, and shall it also be a Federal Felony to smuggle non-citizens of The United States of America into The United States of America including all of her territories and possessions as well as to provide aid and comfort in any form to an illegal non-citizen of The United States of America?

This petition is not affiliated with any website, lobby group, organization, etc. This is not a Liberal or a Conservative petition, a Democrat or a Republican petition. This is a petition started by one man, an American, to give all American men and women the opportunity to tell the federal government in one loud voice that We the People, not the few elected, decide the fate of our nation.

The person sponsoring this petition is just one man, an American citizen, who is disgusted, frustrated and angered at the actions of his government concerning the issues of border security and amnesty for illegal immigrants. As most Americans know, American politicians only listen to Lobby groups, the wealthy and "scientific" polls consisting of 500 people or less. It is time to Remember what Thomas Jefferson, the second President of the United States, said, "When people live in fear of their government it is a tyranny. When a government lives in fear of its people it is a democracy." Since politicians live and die by weekly "polls" and hardly ever pick up the phone to speak to their constituents the only way they will hear the People is in a National Referendum, the ultimate poll where one man, one vote counts.
Currently there are no rules for holding a National Referendum as one has never been held in The United States. However, there are currently 27 states within the Union that have set rules for referendum and initiatives. These states have shown that referendums and initiatives work and are the will of the People. Therefore, there should be no reason why a National Referendum or National Direct Initiative could not work or be allowed on the federal level. If the general rule of number of required signatures on a petition is followed using the figures of 3%, 5% and 10% of those that voted for governor in the states that have referendums/initiatives. We would need to use the 2004 Presidential election numbers (122,293,332 voted):
3% = 3,668,800 signatures
5% = 6,114,667 signatures
10% = 12,229,333 signatures. |
