| 8 | Anonymous | we can't kill off local grocery stores by allowing Tesco to plant another store; if we do, we're killing off Reading's culturally unique culinary diversity! |
| 9 | trevor horrell | one Tesco's is quite enough for Reading |
| 10 | C Farrow | Tesco's are killing our high streets. Keep them out! Remember "EVERY LITTLE HURTS". |
| 11 | Anonymous | Tesco already have a huge store on the same road. This new one is completely unnecessary esp given their overwhelming presence in the town and will reduce consumer choice rather than increase it. |

| 14 | Josef Fiszer | A grant of permission to create yet another Tesco will undoubtedly decrease competition in the local area and hinder independent trade. I strongly oppose the creation of a further and refuse to shop at any Tesco store. |

| 17 | Mark Hare | given that there is already a major tesco store being built on the oxford road the tesco express is completly unnecessary |
| 18 | Anonymous | we don't need another tesco in Reading! |

| 23 | V. Barker | The new TE will be bang opposite the local school; there is already more than enough traffic for parents and children to contend with. Yet another shop will only increase the amount of traffic and make walking along the pavement hazardous as shoppers swing in and out of the car park.
Anyway, we are already about to be subjected to an enormous Tesco a bit further along Oxford Road. We already have many and varied food and convenience stores and there is really no need for this one. |

| 29 | Councillor Tony Jones | I am pleased to add my name to this petition. When the issue is right, party poltics do not matter.
A paper version of this petition will be available in shops along the Oxford Road, so tell any family or friends who may not have access to the internet to sign that instead (but not both - let's keep the integrity of this).
I will oppose in Reading Council any planning application which Tesco submit to support their plan, for all the reasons set out above. The diversity of the Oxford Road needs protecting, not being crushed under the heavy wheel of a big player.
Spread the word and we will stop this!

| 31 | Paul Barker | Since Tesco are building a huge store only 600 yards from this site, a further Tesco's store is inappropriate, and an example of their approaching monopoly power. Oxford Road has plenty of food stores in the vicinity - eg Butts one side of the plot and Lidl 200 yards to the west, and several others too. I cannot see the need for another store of the Tesco's type, and if one is required, then can it be someone else not already represented in the area. |

| 33 | Joanne Kelly | |
| 34 | Judy Evans | Reading needs more small, interesting, independant shops not corperate giants |
| 35 | Anonymous | I think 2 large Tesco's in Reading is enough. |
| 36 | Andy Murrill | There is no need for a Tesco Express on Oxford Road. The small, independent retailers there must be protected. |

| 47 | Trevor Mayall | Surely there should be a choice about where we shop and the more Tesco's take over the less choice we have, the face of the Oxford road will change for the worse. |

| 49 | Val Tooth | There are enough convenience stores in this area of Oxford Road. We do not need another Tesco. |
| 50 | Hannah Thompson | The Oxford road has been quite happily trading along for years, why can't Tesco leave everyone alone? I read an article about them illegally trading in turtles in a foreign country somewhere, apparently?? Have they got any morals? Why are we shopping there? |
