| 653 | mith | I have a very well taken care of 1999 F550 V10 6.8 liter truck and have had spark plug blow out 4 times.
A phone call to ford was worthless. On top of this Ford has recently raised the price on the Head replacement to $4200.00 in retalliation for grumbling ford owners. Ford is screwing the people who have kept them in business, very sad |

| 657 | Connie Poole | We have a 2002 Ford F250 and it has blown the same plug twice. We have already had it fixed once and it did it again today. Contacted Ford motor company and they tried to blame it on the mechanic that we had fix the vehicle the first time, or in the spark plugs themselves. They want to charge us $150 just to asses the vehicle and there is no guarantee that after they asses it that they will pay to have it fixed. |

| 661 | Anonymous | No problem so far, but if everyone is telling the truth about the amount of threads in the head ford needs to do something. 2001 f150 supercrew lariot 81000 miles. best rideI have ever owned. |

| 664 | Jesse Climer | #3 blow-out, poor excuse for an engine design! |
| 665 | Kim Shipman | I have an 01 ford expedition, I was driving down the road today for a job interview!!! and POW!!! I slowly drove to the nearest repair shop only to find out that the # 6 spark plug shot out and there are no threads left to put another spark plug in. So we will need to replace the heads or somehow make new threads to hold a new spark plug in place. I have 6 children and it is 102 degrees outside, If this is defalt made by ford, they should repair this at no cost. Families are paying for this and it is not right! I am only thankful I didnt have my kids with me when this happened as I was stranded for almost 2 hours on the side of the road and at the mechanics shop. I havent got it fixed yet, as I am not for sure how much it will cost or how to do it but I do know that the holes the spark plugs go into are about 1 foot inside the head so any over the fender repair might be really tough!! |

| 668 | Harry Brennan | JUST BOUGHT A USED 2001 LARIAT 4.6 TRITON WITH 123,000 MILES. FROM WHAT I AM READING HERE I WISHED I WOULD HAVE WENT WITH CHEVY OR DODGE. FORD NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. CONSUMERS WHO PREFER FORD VEHICLES ARE WHO TRULY MADE FORD SUCCESSFUL, SO IF FORD DOES NOT ACT ON THIS PROBLEM, FORD WILL CRASH!!!!!! GAURENTEED!!!!!! IT IS TOO BAD BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE NEWER F-150, BUT IF THIS HAPPENS TO THIS VEHICLE I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT AGAIN!! EVER!!!!!!!!!!! |
| 669 | Kurt E. Malerich | What total idiot designed this 1/4" deep spark plug thread depth design in aluminum heads? Have you Ford retards been to grade school let a lone automotive engineering school. This has to be one of the most pathetic engineering designs Ive ever seen. I got rid of my Excursion and bought a Suburban. Now I have this to contend with in my F250. Make it right you corporate rejects!! Quit making consumers pay for your gross negligence! |
| 670 | Catherine Spliethof | I have a 1999 Eddie Bauer Expedition with 130,000 miles. |

| 679 | John Scott | 2001 F150 5.4 Liter. Coming home from vacation and #4 plug blew out of the head breaking coil. Cost me money for hotel and meals for 4 days as no inserts were available in Jackson, TN at the time and had to wait the weekend to get one. Ford said they had never heard of this happening before. |

| 683 | Jerold Quick | I own a 1999 Ford F-350 with the Triton V-10. It has approx 130,000 miles on it and just blew out the plug on the back cylinder, passenger side. This is a truck that is well cared for and adult driven. The incident happened at low RPMs. FORD needs to step up and take care of this problem. |
| 684 | Anonymous | This problem continues with the 2006 also |
| 685 | Robert Morgan | 2001 F150 #3 spark plug blown $300.00 + |

| 689 | abe keil | 60,000 miles on an 04 truck and it cost me 700 dollars to replace 8 spark plugs because 3 broke off in the head and were removed and replaced with a newly designed plug it could have cost anywhere from 500 dollars to 3800 dollars to my luck that wasnt the case how ever 700 dollars for spark plugs????????? |
| 690 | charn dulay | Hi i own a 01 f150 i have two of my plugs blow out and both have been costly, i have been stuck without my truck twice now and i have had it with ford they have to do something about this problem. |
| 691 | Andrew Cooper |
| 692 | Salvador Perez | i have a 2002 mustang gt with 85,000 miles and Just to day arraving at work, I heard a loud "popping" noise coming from inside the hood. I not sure whats the issue, but from reading every one else comments I think I blew out a spark plug. |
| 693 | Anonymous | My 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 liter V8 shot out a spark plug last week. It sounded like a shotgun went off when it started. I am currently unemployed and cannot afford to fix this major malfunction. I am paying my car payment and full coverage as my piecer 2003 sits in the driveway. Thanks to cheap innovation. |
| 694 | Christopher white | I own a 2002 Ford excursion with a triton V10 and love it, except for the fact about 3-4 yrs ago at around 60k the #8 plug blew out. My options where either pay $3000 to a dealer to replace or have another mechanic put in a "sleeve" for around $500. I went for the later and have no had a problem with that cylinder since. However just today the # 3 plug blew! holy c$@p! I could not believe my luck. I called several dealers and of course non of them accept any responsibility for Ford, the only state the will replace the head for around $3000-$5000. Really depressing considering I dont have that kind of money right now and I am about to get out of the military. Thanks alot Ford! |

| 699 | Neil Mackay | I was on a road trip in the middle of nowhere with
two kids when the number three plug blew out, resulting in an awful racket, we were lucky to get a ride 25 miles to the nearest town but incurred a 600
dollar towing charge. I only discoved the defect
after removing the #3 coil pack and have now learned the true extent of the sham ford has played
on all of us. |
| 700 | tom cummings | 2000 f250. driving it as a v-9 cant afford to fix -still have payments-hoping for major fire!!!! |
