Love the car... just hate Ford. |
| 503 | Travis Weishaar | My 02 F150 Harley Davidson edition blew a spark plug out of the #2 cylinder. I have been going round and round with Ford about this. The customer service line is useless. I tried them and they told me Ford is doing nothing to fix this problem. I emailed the consumer affairs manager at Ford. Her name is Rosemary O'Malley. She had Lynne Buckman from the Corporate offices of Ford Motor Company call me. She offered to pay me back for the parts of the fix, which added up to a whopping 125.00. She claims that this is not a common problem. My bill was 500 bucks for the heli coil fix. I was told by my local dealership that the heads are $4,000 to replace. Lynne told me that it would be a waste of my time to write a letter to the CEO of Ford Alan Mulally because he would send it right back down to her. This is not right. The heads need to be recalled and people who drive the F series vehicles should be able to drive their vehicles with confidence. These are their direct numbers...

Towing Jeep back from Moab in Denver city limits.
Having www.blownoutsparkplug.com do repair. I spent two days trying to do myself. FORD SUCKS!! What happened to the days 70's 80's of sitting on fenderwell of K5 or Bronco and working on engine. Global warming my a** give me a leaded 350 anyday!!! Fix Or Repair Daily should Pony up for this flaw. Have had a 97 Heep for 12 years with less problems (only self inflicted ones).

| 519 | Anonymous | Just bought a used 2000 F250 this last weekend. On the way home from the purchase it blew a plug. Unfortunately I couldn't return it to the purchaser so I had a helycoil done on it at a cost of $650. Like everyone else. I have now confidence in this vehicle now. Will be selling and buying Chev. |
| 520 | Craig Mickel | This is not an isolated problem and Ford should stand behind it's product or loose loyal Ford owners to GM or Foreign manufacturs. Sometimes it costs money to do the right thing!!!! |
| 521 | kevin becker | I have had this problem also. In the end the motor has been destroyed and I need to pay $5,000 to fix! |
| 522 | Robert Sturdivant | 2001 expedition just spit out a second plug .Ford is Horrible for this they know this is a problem yet they make us pay for it wtf ill never buy a ford again |
| 523 | Anonymous | I have a 2001 F150 SCREW with Triton V8 and just had the #4 plug blow out. Quite unhappy that Ford has turned their backs on this issue, other than "sneaking" in more threads in the heads of Post 2003 models. |
| 524 | LEE R. WALKER | YEP, IT HAPPENED TO ME, AND I HAVE' NT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE MY TRUCK FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS AS I CAN'T AFFORD $4000 TO GET THE HEADS FIXED. I CERTAINLY HOPE FORD DOES THE RIGHT THING AND RECALLS THE TRUCK FOR A COMPLETE REPAIR AT NO COST TO THE OWNERS. |

| 526 | Dallas Bond | Our family has enjoyed our 2000 Ford Excursion Limited with Triton V-10 Engine until New Years Eve 2007. That was when we had our first experience of a blown spark plug 3rd Cylinder from front of engine on the Drivers Side. That was repaired with a thread insert in the cylinder. About a month Later the 4th cylinder from the front on the drivers side decides to eject it's spark plug. Once again cylinder repaired with thread insert. Now as we hit the Summer Season and making plans for our Summer Travels and on a weekend drive and return trip about 45 miles from home while traveling at 40 miles per hour through a town our Triton V-10 decides to spit the 4th plug from he front on the passenger side of the engine. Does Ford not know how much they are costing the consumer in repairs? And how inviting a Toyota SUV or a Chevrolet/GMC Suburban is looking for our next family vehicle. Come on Ford Recall em and fix them soon. It is only fair and goodwill for your faulty manufacturing practice. Just like Baseball Ford your up to bat and after today you just swung your 3rd strike and your out. |

| 528 | Chris Elder | I have a 2002 F150. I have had two spark plugs spit out of the engine in less than two months!! The dealer says this is rare and my warranty does not cover this. WTF?!! I have driven a Ford my whole life. I will never buy another Ford. Fix Or Repair Daily |
| 529 | 22Tango | Here is the YouTube link to my video concerning my blown spark plugs on the 5.4 TriTon (DIE-ON) engine.
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
I gave up on "INSERTS" as a repair option and I am replacing the entire engine with a newly remanufactured (not rebuilt) JASPER ENGINE. After I have driven the Jasper engine for a couple of months, I'll post a new video about that experience.
My second cylinder head "EXPLOSION" was a few weeks ago, when an aftermarket INSERT blew out of the head, spark plug... insert and all. I am fortunate that this explosion didn't rupture a fuel line and ignite gasoline or fuel vapors.
Hey, remember the Ford Pinto problem and how Ford failed to act on that issue (people died in that fiasco) well, this "blowing sparkplugs" out of the cylinder head could be just as bad in my humble opinion and with Ford's LOUSY track-record in fixing problems after the fact, don't hold your breath waiting on Ford to make good on this issue.
If you own a Ford Triton, all you need is a miracle... not an insert.
GOOD LUCK FORD OWNERS. |

| 535 | Adam Brunsting | Just a few nights ago I had the #6 spark plug blow out of the engine. The cost of this repair is around $1000. My extended warranty will only cover the cost of the one blown. After doing some research I found out that this is a common thing and that Ford is not even trying to take care of their design flaw. This is wrong and dissapointing. Ford revolutionized vehicles and now they are taking advantage of thier loyal customers. MAN UP TO YOUR MISTAKES FORD!!! |
| 536 | Steve Harvey | 2000 F250 5.4l triton Blew spark plug out of head |
| 537 | Laramie Plainfeather | I wish Ford would of informed me of this, I could be spending my money elsewhere. |

| 542 | george yohe | I've been a life long ford fan and i think my next truck will where a bow tie blown spark plugs strike again |
| 543 | Kent McCorquodale | 2001 F250 blew #4 spark plug, striped the threads. the dealer says the only fix is replacing the head with a new one. 3260.00........ Im switching to GM |
| 544 | Diane Dombrowski | I have a 2005 and the spark plugs are worse than the other years, on the V8, in central florida the only place i can get them changed out is a dealership b/c of them breaking off into the motor. It will cost me $400.00 for just the plugs and if they break the extra labor and parts. BULL CRAP! I thought ford made a better truck but i guess i was wrong, talk about taking advantage of hard working people. Since you wont even fix the problem. |

| 548 | butch h. | i work as a mechanic and i see ford vehicles about once a week now with blown out spark plugs. in fact, my buddy has had to replace 3 of them on his 02 ford xlt lariat with the triton v-10. what made me mad, was i done a tune up on a 99 ford e-350 van and 2 months later it spit out the #3 plug, i didnt have a right angle drill and advised him to take it to the dealership where the proceeded to tell him the plugs weren't installed properly at the right torque specs. needless to say it caused a problem since the customer wanted me to warranty it. after several other customers told him of the problem he is going after ford himself and is getting the run around from them. he has had 2 plugs blown out, my buddy has had 3 out, and several others have had multiple plug failures. i ask ford, if there isnt a problem, then why does the automotive parts houses have repair kits for these vehicles? before i even do a tune up on the ford vehicles, i have the owner sign a waiver just for these problems to cover my own butt, especially since ford wont cover theirs. im glad i drive chevys, have a 96 1/2 that pulls a race car and aside from routine maintinance, no problems and its going on 165K miles. |
| 549 | Chris Olsen | I have a 1998 expedition that has spit out the #4 and the #6 spark plugs. #6 wasn't as bad as the #4 which is back under the firewall. I've spent over $1500 in repairs and just keep waiting for another to come out. |
| 550 | kevin kuney | Same problem I thought I just need new plugs but went to auto parts store and they said is it a ford truck yep f-150 1999 142,952 miles so I just put new plugs back lasted a month before popping again and found you guys. I hope they will fix for cheap I have to fix the cruise control recalled. thanks kevin ps I love my truck but I guess gmc or something I guess get on line to look for problems first. |
