I am now trying to sort through all these problems, late fees, NSF Fees, all of these because Providian could not process the payments properly. I pay my mortgage payment and other credit cards fine by this method. They also did not bother to tell me that my payments were not going through, they just kept taking more payments by phone!

I never paid them late and always paid over the amt. that was due sometimes 3 times the amt They closed this acct. without any explanation. I have contacted them numerous times by letters phone calls and emails. I have as of yet gotten an answer as to why they closed this acct. without any given me any notice of doing so.I would under stand if I had paid them late or had an outstandin balance. I stated out with the Get Smart Visa & then Providian took over the account. If anyone have any info. as to why this happen please let me know. this is showing up on my credit report even though it shows where I have never been late paying them. 37	Mike	Snyder	KS	US	I had the providian "Aria" card... later changed to "GetSmart." I got smart alright - I paid the account and closed it. I have perfect credit (I even bought a house recently) yet a year ago I received a notice saying my interest rate would go up to 29.9% - Yikes! My options were to pay the balance and close the card before the change took effect, or let them stick-it to me. I normally do not sign online petitions - don't believe in them, never have. But I'll certainly sign this one if it means even the chance of putting a stop to that kind of nonsense.

The company and I entered into an agreement and they reneged on it plus they are now charging me a whopping 29% finance charge on my account. The mycardaccount people say it is their right since they took over from providian with out my consent or authorization, with out my even knowing. Last year, even though I had been current in my payments and within my credit limits, my interest went up drastically, both cards were cancelled and I am unable to deal with card services via the internetand with much difficulty over the phone. I continue to pay these cards on time, but I know I'm getting ripped off and don't know what to do about it.

Yes Providian is guilty of baiting consumers who wish to improve their credit then they raise your credit limit. Once you have your credit limit at such a point you are duped and told your card will be discontinued. Now they are charging you interest at amount where you will always be in arrears. They are snakes, and belong in Hell!!!!
