Most people say sex work is about violence and abuse, yet everytime they talk about all of this it is victims of trafficking, underground prostitution. Illegal prostitutes have no way to protect themselves and do not follow any guidelines to protect their health. Std's and HIV are mainly transmitted through unprotected sex which most illegal sex workers do and spread it. If there are laws in place to support legal prostitution this kind of epidemic of std's and violence would be less likely to happen. Weekly testing can be put into law, security for their safety. On the other hand some people say that sex is immoral but yet just about everyone that lives on this earth has sex. Porn is also sex work but yet that type of work is OK? It is still the same thing having sex on a camera for money and porn is sold everywhere. If prostitution was legal women that choose to be in this industry could be in it and the ones that are trying to be forced into it by an illegal pimp would have the resources to go to the police instead of being fearful of being arrested because she is an illegal prostitute. Most of the United States prostitution is illegal and yet it continues to happen regardless. If we legalize it it can only help. So please if you agree to all of these facts sign this petition to make prostitution legalized and regulated in Kentucky.
