Andrew Leavitt | We need a Progressive Voice in this area!
John Barker | I am a progressive and proud of it, but I am tired of listening to weak signals from other Michigan public radio stations that carry real progressive programming.

Margaret Novitski | Alternative Radio is an outstanding show. Please keep it on.
Anonymous | This is a valuable show. You have some pretty strange stuff on that is less valuable. If public radio is to provide views (and music) not heard on commercial radio, this fills that role. I am a regular contributor to the station.
Jackie |
Marvin Lett | Pleas keep alternative radio on the air.
Jan Bauman | This is an extremely important time in our country's history, and we need progressive voices on our airways. I am a long time supporter of pubic radio, and I hope you will seriously consider my concerns.
Nick Kulis |
John Wright | Please add the Dianne Rheim show and leave Alternative Radio on the air. I am a long time supporter of CMU Public Radio and these prgrams are important to me.

| 24 | Bruce Kilmer | I am an avid listener of all of your news programs, evening shows such as Interfaith Voices, and your Saturday shows (Car Guys, Wait, Wait ... " and of course Prarie Home Companion.
Alternative Radio offers a unique perspective that I encourage you to keep for your listeners. Just turn on the dial in the afternoon and all you hear are the likes of Rush Limbaugh. |
lynn mefort | Please! Do not remove Alternative Radio. It is one of the very few programs that tells a different and independent story.
Tim Caldwell |
John Casbergue, Ph.D. | Personal email sent to John Sheffler, radio director of WCMU radio re this matter.

| 29 | The Rev. Robert L Barker | Dear Mr. Scheffler,
I was very disturbed to learn that WCMU management was going to give in to the pressure of a far-right political group and drop from your program schedule the fine progressive program "Alternative Radio" that WCMU now airs at 9:00 PM Monday and which I and many other progressive people in your large broadcast area listen to. I hope that you will not follow through on this plan to placate the far-right bullies and rather choose to demonstrate this WCMU "independence" that you speak of. We of a progressive political persuasion have so few alternatives to hear the progressive speakers that AR brings to us via WCMU radio.

Mark Ward | As an alumnus of CMU I would be very disappointed if WCMU Radio would pull the only progressive show it currently airs. Please recosider your position.
Margaret M. Williams |
Linda Mason | PBS and hence in our area CMU public radio, are really the only radio I have to listen to. The others are all country stations, Right Wing talk radio, rock music or religious stations, none of which I listen to for even one minute. I use to be able to get WKAR at my house, but other stations are intruding on that signal. Stations I do not want to hear. So we need PBS here.
Carol Atkins | As Manistee grows, the demand for progressive thinking will also grow. In fact, the increase in progressing thinking is a sign of growth.
Gary Poindexter |
dan brinker | npr is one of only a few sources of non-biased right wing rhetoric. please reconsider.
Glen Williams | Commercial radio is dominated by right-wing talk radio. In central Michigan there are no outlets for liberal viewpoints other than on satellite radio. Please don't take away this valuable resource from the liberal/progressive segment of your audience.
Shannon Patrick | John, I recognize and appreciate the problem this presents you, but this is one of those occasions where the message may be more important than the audience numbers. Rational, intelligent presentations by people like Bill Moyers and Noam Chomsky on Alternative Radio should be heard, and need a real forum. Unfortunately in the US, the only viable forum for such presentations is public radio. I hope that you will consider keeping the program. If necessary, please consider my contribution to CMU public radio to be earmarked for this program. My sincere thanks to you.

Mary Barker | There is so much good about public radio, give us another reason to support public broadcasting. Keep Alternative Radio on the air!
Mary Barker | There is so much good about public radio, give us another reason to support public broadcasting. Keep Alternative Radio on the air!
Michael Seaman | Please preserve Alternative Radio on the CMU public radio stations.
Matthew Sous |
Ardith Barnich | Please, please keep Alternative Radio on WCMU.
Marie Kopin | Please keep progressive radio alive on WCMU. This is one of the few stations around here which I can count on to present an alternative view such as 'Alternative Radio'. I like to hear all side.
