| 104 | Anonymous | In the face of all the evidence to show we must change our source of power and stop depending on polluting coal burning and oil resources, how can Qld politicians be so far behind in dealing with the realities of Peak Oil and climate change? To destroy valuable wiidlife habitat, property and people's lives to install old, wasteful technology, - using resources that could be used instead, to make solar power and other less damaging sources of energy accessable to all, - is indefensible. The overbearing, punishing, political tactics used with the Mary River and Traveston Dam are being applied here. What will it take to make decision makers listen to the issues and make sound decision based on logic and well-being of the environment, its people and wildlife, and the future not only off local land, but of the planet? This latest threat to the region shows a blatant disregard for democracy, the environment and the people. One has to wonder just what is the next atrocity being planned for this region and if the date of the next election can be brought forward? |
| 105 | Michael Pallot | Use funding to seek alternative forms of sustainable energy and preserve the environment instead. |
| 106 | Jessie Rankin | Please seek viable alternatives to Powerlink's current proposal. The natural beauty of the area is worth protecting for residents and tourists. |

| 109 | peter wallis | I would like explained to me why it is so necessary to impose these high voltage power lines on Eerwah Vale and Eumundi. I should alo like to Know what is the purpose of building the substation in this place and where the power that it brings will be distributed to, surely the future needs of our area don't need this much power unless there is something else that we have not been told. |
| 110 | Jeanette Merrell | Recent studies continually warn us of the dangers. 'Avoid living near power sub-stations, power pylons, overhead power lines.' For those of us who have lived with cancer, who have just been diagnosed, or have lost loved ones from cancer, we know only too well the ramifications of living close to high voltage transmission lines. The Leukaemia Foundation of Australia acknowledges and supports a 'prudent avoidance' approach in relation to high-level EMF exposure.
It is a very serious matter what the State Government of Queensland's owned Corporation Powerlink, are imposing in our backyards. I wonder what the moral implications will be for those who insist on quoting outdated scientific data for their own financial and personal gain? |

| 122 | Mike Blackall | Protect this most beautiful area, which is a hinterland tourism route of outstanding natural beauty. An alternative route for the powerlines is a feasible solution. |

| 130 | keith Robertson | Listen to your community!!! they do not want this to ruin our environment, there are alternatives but you are just NOT listening!! DO NOT do something that will only do more harm than good!! |
| 131 | jennifer bishop | There are better environmental and efficient ways to have power supplied through this area. Huge above ground pylons and lines are NOT the answer. I say NO to powerlink plans as they stand. |
| 132 | karen scanlan | I am aware that there are shorter routes, eg along the highway. |
| 133 | paul van herberghen | i live at eerwah vale near eumundi kenilworth road i do not want this terrible thing built in this area |
| 134 | Sandra Lilley | Why does Government ignore the pleas by residents who choose to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty? Wildlife corridors will be destroyed. The health of local residents will be harmed by electro-magnetic fields and high voltage power lines.
In the light of efforts to reduce carbon emissions and electricity useage why is it necessary to transmit more electricity through this particular area?
For what purpose is this increased electricity required? |
| 135 | Dawn Forrer | This is ridiculous in this day and age! The $5 million dollars that it costs should be spent on renewable energy. Put free solar panels on everyone's home and we wouln't need extra powerlines. |
| 136 | bob carey | i do support the Page suggestions for the needs of the the electricity network |
| 137 | Anonymous | Why can't the power lines be put underground for a start. Other alternative power sources preferred. |
| 138 | Annette & Richard | Lets go solar and be more sustainable. |

| 145 | Ian Caire | I am vehemently opposed to high-voltage power lines in the Eumundi area and the effects that it could have on my child, wildlife and general environment. |

| 148 | Kevin Sharman | Solar is going ahead rappidly and will reduce the need for this line |
| 149 | Andrew Macready | Why not spend the money that is being utilised for these archaic upgrades on ensuring all new houses are built with solar panles fitted, and promote existing residents to install panels. Thuis then negates the need for these upgrades across South East Queensland. Surely the health of the nation is more important than the Powerlink & Energex bottom line. |
| 150 | s kenrick | Please find an alternative to the ugly dangerous power lines. This is a beautiful part of the world that is being ruined by overdevelopment. |
