Jack Connolly | Powerlink's proposal to erect pylons and 275,000 volt powerlines is not only unsightly inthe extreme, but totally unnecessary. Using 19th century technology in the 21st century when most of the kinown world is trying to reduce greenhouse gas emmisions shows the true colour of our politicians' hollow "feel good" statements. There are better alternatives available.
Joe Russell | A complete and unnecessary desecration of beutifull countryside when they (Powerlink and the government) know there are cost effective and eco friendly alternatives.
Chris Russell | If Powerlink would bury these cables, it would give them the extra power they need and at the same time, make Eerwah Vale and Eumundi inhabitants happy again. Do we live in a democratie or is it a dictatorship?
Anonymous | Please don't ruin our view and damage our health and destroy the bush to put up an above ground massive powerline in EERWAH VALE! Please listen to the people of the valley. You owe us that.

| 7 | Deborah Melrose | Although I do not know the details of the impact report - it seems entirely ridiculous that our council would approve a property for sale and development for residential purposes only to have the State Government of Queensland decide to erect a dangerous high tension power line causeway through the middle of it. Our council and government waste so much tax payers money in court fees and in the process of putting forward such objectional proposals it makes my head spin wondering why they are always moaning about their inability to pay for road upgrades or other coastal infrastructure, or community services. Surely when our forefathers designed the sunshine coast, they had a big picture in mind and given that this technology has been around for decades, why would they even begin to conceive the notion of putting this structure on a property which has only just been approved for residential development within the last two years. Either these elected leaders are making it up as they go along or they are constantly conning us into a false sense of security in approving residential development. Just look at the huge tracts of ex-cane land around Coolum which they approved for sale and development as "residential" - wont the new owners be thrilled when they find they have bought land to build a home in what can only be described as a swamp and that which is highly subjected to flooding during severe wet seasons. Not to mention the issue that Australia Post do not provide a mail service between Doonan and Belli Park for which it has been duly paid to provide and the residents have to either go without getting their mail or collect it on very hard terms, usually by taking time off work or foregoing their ability to serve their own clients who pay them to provide a service. Well I hope our elected officials take into consideration our concerns. Frankly I cannot see it happening - I am still trying to make sense of why they allowed the British to bomb the daylights out of our country with nuclear weapons and my family have to watch each other and our friends families die from horrible cancers and disfiguring diseases because our fathers had the temerity to accept a military posting to Woomera. Who knew that we would pay such a terrible price for "doing so well and thriving in the atomic air out there"?

Peter McDonald | There has to be another way to achieve the same result. Please find it..
| 11 | Anonymous | Dear Government,
Please give serious consideration to alternative routes for this powerline that will not affect residents who purchased homes in the expectation of having a quiet, peaceful environmet free from the uglyness of high voltage lines |

Evelyn Schuetze | I encourage Powerlink and the State and Federal Governments to take notice of the community of Eerwah Vale and Eumundi and find an alternative to this proposal that will ruin so much.
Tonya Jennings | I think the power lines ahould be under ground and not sffecting our beautifl landscape and countryside.
Beth Charlton | There are other place that this could go! Leave the wilderness to the wild!
Jacqueline Hogno | I thought the community and government were looking for ways to have sustainable power sources, please support renewable energy for our childrens future
Jason Madin | Please dont spoil this beautiful valley
Catherine Schuetze | Please preserve this area and don;t allow these powerlines.

Simon St John | I am opposed to high tension powerlines in the Beautiful Eerwah Vale Valley. One only has to visit there to know this is NOT the place to put such and installation, no matter how necessary they might thought to be. Simon

roxahn thomas | I would hate to think of the effects huge powerlines will bare on, the social, environmental, visual, devaluation and health impacts to property owners along the 10 km new easement.
Jenny Tsilfidis | The proposed new Powerlink easement will be within 300m of 37 homes and 500m of 70 homes. Powerlink have no regard for individual rights and persist in forcing these huge towers and cancer causing powerlines on families who have chosen to live in a unique, scenic, environmentally rich and diverse paradise in the Noosa Hinterland. Alternative options must be seriously considered and not lamely discounted by Powerlink.
Mike TSILFIDIS | It is unacceptable what Powerlink are proposing. Place Govt infrustructure on Govt land. Powerlink must not be allowed to save the Govt money at the expense of families!
Sheryl Levell |
Moya Shanks | We live on Blackmountain Rd and already have 1 tower on the L/H side of our driveway and now Powerlink propose to build a 2nd tower on the opposite side of our driveway..we will have Twin Towers . When we bought the property 5 years ago we knew and accepted the fact that Powerlink owned the easement where the present tower exists, BUT under NO circumstances were we informed that in the future another tower would be built where it is now proposed, if we had we never would have purchased the property.

Jim Cooney | Public utilities should be on state-owned land, not easements on private lands. Energex's related lines will mostly follow adjacent roadway routes for multiple benefits, why can't Powerlink's transmission lines? More than one transmission line on a lot is beyond any civic or social duty and a disregard for rural resident's health and land rights.

Rienie Peak | There are so many reasons why this is a backward step. When is the Australian Government going to demonstarte true leadership by protecting its people and the environment from these detructive quick fix "initiatives" for power and water???

Susie Chandler | We purchased property in August last year with the aim of retiring in the picturesque Eerwah Valley. Searches did not show that we would have a sub station next door to our house site or that we would have towers across our property. If this had shown up on the searches we would never have bought. PAGE has offered a more ecconomic and viable solution to Powerlink that will not impact on residents or wildlife corridors. This suggestion seems to be falling on deaf ears. Please help us.
