Whereas hundreds of students within Monongalia County will be affected by the construction of new schools;
Whereas taxpayers in Monongalia County supported and passed a bond for the construction of these new schools after being given a specific floorplan;
Whereas citizens of Monongalia County affirm that recent market fluctuations are not the fault of the children of Monongalia County, and as such they should not be punished for them;
Whereas citizens of the community feel that school-related activities (sports not withstanding) are necessary for today's youth;
Whereas citizens of the community feel that forward progress is superior to stagnation and low expectations;
The citizens of Monongalia County request that the Board of Education follow the original plans used to pass the school bond by whatever means necessary, including but not limited to finding alternate sources of funding for any budget deficits.
By signing this petition, citizens affirm that they are opposed to any changes the Brookwood Program Managment Firm may propose to the Monongalia County Board of Education. |
