Nobody is trying legalize the owership of pet raccoons in states where it's illegal to own a pet raccoon. If a person is found in possession of a raccoon in states where it's illegal to own a pet raccoon the animal can be ceased and killed and the owner forced to pay big fines. Raccoons just like other animals are safter And Tend to make good pets if bought from a licenced breeder compared to taking them directly from the wild.
