Internet Peer Abuse
As the use of the Internet grows, so does the online flaming, verbal abuse, trolling and harassment of others. There are people out there who go to message boards and tell people what they can and cannot say. Or, who will try and bully people off of message boards and chats. Or, some will just jump in and start flaming wars on purpose. Also, another problem is constant slander and abuse of another person by constant insults and the spreading of vicious lies by using that person's real name to various places online. What ever happened to respect for other people? Usually, this is done out of maliciousness because someone may disagree with the person in their beliefs or values. Freedom of speech is valued in America and we back the First Amendment up. However, it gets bad when it goes into verbal abuse and slander. We draw the line at trolling, verbal abuse and slander towards others. There should be laws on the Internet where people should not have the right to destroy someone's name and reputation despite what we may feel about them otherwise. This is abuse, it is peer abuse and it is wrong! Nobody deserves to be bullied offline OR online. Please feel free to make others aware of this petition and help stop online bullying and peer abuse of others. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter. Please, help try to bring back consideration and respect for others both online and offline. Help to get bullying stopped once and for all!
