We believe in workplace fairness and the rights of Americans to be judged on the quality of our work, not on our gender identity and expression or sexual orientation. We recognize the need to extend non-discrimination protections to all LGBT Americans so that we can keep our jobs, support our families and contribute to our society. Twelve states and over one hundred localities currently include gender identity and sexual orientation in their anti-discrimination laws; however, this patchwork of protection is not enough to cover the majority of American workers. Federal legislation is needed to consistently address and end workplace discrimination. Intolerance is bad for business and bad for America. We, the undersigned, urge the passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA).
