All New Yorkers have a right to be involved in their children’s education, and parent involvement is an important way to promote academic achievement. We, the undersigned, urge you to support and pass intro.464: The Education Equity Act. It guarantees that the Department of Education provide interpretation and translation services to address the needs of immigrant New Yorkers.
Two million New Yorkers speak languages other than English. We are all friends and neighbors. We all pay taxes. We all deserve to fully participate in our great city.
