The petition
Dear PAFA Board Members,
The families of PAFA football players, signers of this petition, are requesting that you reconsider the PAFA Season start date of 7/30/2008. A start date of 8/5/2008 would be more accomodating for the following reasons:
1. It would allign the PAFA season with the IHSA football season, for those of us with Highschool Players.
2. It would give those participants who play travel baseball at least a full calender week (Sunday to Sunday)to enjoy some free time before the long football practice schedule begins.
3. It would allow families with H.S. players and baseball players to plan a vaction for their entire family without worrying about conflicts.
4. It would reduce the number of players missing the first few days of practice due to vacations.
With so many programs and oppurtunities available to our children, it is important that families are given and give themselves an oppurtunity to take a break and plan family time. The highschools recoginze the importance of time off by giving their athletes and students 10 days of free time between summer school/camps and the beginning of the fall sporting season. We request that you give the PAFA participants and families the same oppurtunity by changing the PAFA Season Start date to Monday, August 5, 2008.
