I always use my name! |
| 3 | Scott Templeton | Although I don't believe in online Petitions, I do believe in Transparency! |
| 4 | Alex Krebelj | It seems the only time we hear about transparent
government is during an election...........
Then back to the in-camera meetings......... |

| 6 | Ursula Bennett | I sat in on the Bill 130 deliberations at Queen's Park back in December 2006. The Bill 130 "investigator" provision creates the ILLUSION of Accountablity.
The reality if that The Province KNOWS EXACTLY what's really happening inside Municipal Councils. And that's why they've allowed Municipal Councils an "escape clause".
Make no mistake, that's what it is. Municipalities can avoid investigations by the Ontario Ombudsman by hiring their own investigators.
Blocking citizens' path to our Ontario Ombudsman --that's bad enough. But municipalities are aslo charging citizens up to $250 for a "hired-gun investigation" rather than a FREE and legimate process through the Ombudsman's office.
Bottomline? Citizens must ask --If they're avoiding the Ontario Ombudsman, WHY are municipalities hiding?

| 7 | Brian Johnson | I just find it odd how town staff seem to have arrived at a recomendation without having thoroughly researched all options (i.e. no one has actually contacted the ombudsman's office) |
| 8 | Peg Gibson | I will take THIS complaint to the Ombudsman on my own. |
| 9 | bill longworth | Open and transparent government is basic to the ideals of a democracy |
| 10 | Oliver Forbes | I do not believe taxpayers should be paying the cost of an investigation, should one be necessary, when there exist a service that taxpayers are ready paying for that is available to the Town without any additional cost. |
