Rather than ostracizing minority children for being different, Pakistan needs to celebrate their diversity. The first step to doing this is education reform: what we learn at school not only defines our perceptions of individuals we classify as “other” but also how we choose to treat them in the real world. We must take measures to integrate these children into the classroom.

We request the Federal Directorate of Education to work with local organizations to train public school teachers in Islamabad on religious minorities. This petition will be presented to the Director of Training at the FDE at our coalition meeting on Monday, August 18th 2014.

The Islamabad Capital Territory can serve as a model for all of Pakistan by taking this revolutionary step. Your sign can change a future. No humane person wants a child to grow up; weak, loathsome and persecuted. If we can get our teachers sensitized, we can ensure an auspicious future for all. Please sign our petition today to help our cause!
