Originally released on October 23rd, 1998, "Orgazmo" was not well received in box office dollars due to it's unfair NC-17 rating. Written and Directed by Trey Parker (of South Park fame) this quirky film chronicles the adventures of Mormon missionary Joe Young who stumbles into the starring role of porno superhero Orgazmo. Anyone who has seen this film understands the sheer comic genius that Trey (and Matt Stone in a supporting role) is able to capture by spoofing everything that can be covered (and uncovered) in the porno film industry. And why it has become a cult hit since it's original release date.
Since the theatrical release the movie has been gaining support via VHS sales in the US and Europe, and with an eclectic soundtrack released in America. However, the DVD version has only been available overseas. USA Home Entertainment finally planned a 2 DVD Special Edition for realease on April 23rd, 2002 to be released here in the USA. I have even seen screen shots of the DVD menus, and photos of the actors, cast, crew, and adult movie stars working on the DVD's bonus features. But, for reasons that have yet to be explained the project has been dropped.
This petition is to get this project rolling again. |

Orgazmo came to my attention a couple of years ago in trying to find some information on South Park. I rented the movie out of sheer curiousity, and my wife and I found ourselves laughing 'til it hurt. We introduced our friends and family to the movie, and eventually found ourselves having regular "viewing" parties. I am a fan of film, and can always use a good laugh. |
