UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has appealed for 450,000 tents and two million sleeping bags and blankets.
Oprah we need your help. You are able to reach millions of homes and if people could just help with sleeping bags, blankets, warm clothes, tents and medicine that would be a start. It is very grim out there in the freezing cold with no food and people dealing with physical pain as well as emotional issues of loss and grief.

Nadeem is also the current President-elect 2007 for an association called APPNA. American Physicians of Pakistan in North America is an association of 2000 physician members living in the U.S. They have been raising money for the earthquake victims and have collected a little over 1 million dollars and have donated over 2.5 million dollars in medical equipment and medication. This is a 5-10year project, because they also have to re-habilitate these injured victims. I am Nadeem's wife- and if Ms. Winfrey is willing to help me out with a fundraiser that I plan on doing in July 2006-please notify me asap. Anything will help- especially fresh ideas. Believe me, I'm not just asking for money, I am asking you to please help me to make the U.S. public more aware of what is going on over there. The children who have been left w/out homes and their parents are suffering in a way you can not even imagine. The criminals of the street are kidnapping these children and selling them for multiple reasons. It is a horrible horrible situation. Please get back to me soon. APPNA is not sending any money to the Pakistani Government-they have their own APPNA doctors their to oversee where all the finances are going. We can not even trust the Government over there. So many of our physician friends are coming back from there literally in tears because of what the criminals are doing to the children.
