I could not believe my eyes when i watched this unfolding, and am so saddened that so many were killed. Guiness Book must remove any such statements from future issues, and yes, most definitely, make an open acknowledgement, if not an outright apology?! - that they had made such statements in the past and now realize their error. And free the Move 9! or however many are fortunate to still be alive. |

| 679 | Barbara Moore | I was incarcerated with the MOVE Sisters, in Cambridge Springs, Pa. These women were of good nature, never were unpleasant and were exactly what the name says, "On the Move." It could be a blinding snowstorm, snow coming in sideways and those Sister's would be out there, jogging...On the MOVE.
I was Cook 1 and often prepared their vegetarian meals. Knowing that these, strong minded, strong hearted women, were eating what I fixed, I did try a little harder to make it better than the sub standard gruel, we were all used to eating.
MOVE is not a cult but is quickly defined as a way of life, a means of living, a mind set and ever continuous motion to keep this world a better place to live, one person, one neighborhood at a time. |

The Philadelphia Police Department, under order from the Mayor, dropped explosives on the roof of the Move house. The resulting fire killed all but two occupents of the house and destroyed 60 to 70 homes in the neighboring row houses. |

I first read about it in Doris, a collection of zines by Cindy Crabb, and it made a huge impact on me. Now finding out that GWBR wants to say it was a "mass suicide" in 1985 is outraging. The fact that the Guinness Book of World Records wants to label MOVE as a cult proves that the mainstream media chooses it's targets to make sure the public is against a particular group.
