Anonymous | NG | The demand for a state by Ogoni people for the Ogoni is a welcome development, but I would that it be strictly an Ogoni State. My other prayer is that Ogoni people be meticulious about it, for they are qualified and deserve it.
Anonymous | NG | I received the news from John Lar-Wisa and, since it is not against any other tribe in Nigeria or the Federal government but rather a development strategy. I support and appeal to the government to heed this genuine demand, for peace and stability.
samuel mark o. | NG | It is of great importance that the goose which lays the golden egg should be feed properly and taken care of, l feel is a wish and good thing for the ogoni state.

Dr. Michael Oberabor | NG | Ogoni demanding for a state is just and not negotiable. What Ogoni wants is not unattainable. Other tribes in the Nigerian federation enjoy these things with ease, why not Ogoni with their human and material resources.
Mary Fuludu | NG | Ogoni has contributed so much to the development of Nigeria. In a federal state as Nigeria, Ogoni deserves a measure of autonomy as other tribes in the federation do. A state of their own will certainly make for peace and stability, denying them is criminal and inhuman. I therefore join the clamor for the creation of Ogoni state NOW.
Okide Nwobufo | NG | I am not an Ogoni but do buy the idea of an Ogoni State. Reason is that political autonomy which is the bedrock of their demand is enshrined in our federal constitution and a legitimate right, and, they have adopted a more civilized approach in their demand. I see any further delay in granting them this demand as a violation of this right which should be queried. To keep Nigeria ONE is a task that should be ensured by all governments and this is it.
Felix Odogwu | NG | My Ogoni friends have educated me on their right to be autonomous and creating a state for them is a panacea to peaceful co-exitence and even development in Nigeria. It is a minimum demand by a people who have so much resources and knowhow; it will be viewed as a step to giving them sense of belonging in the Nigerian federation. I therefore learn my voice to the call for an Ogoni State within Nigeria.
Gold PioghiBari Lar-Wisa | NG | I am born an Ogoni and, from the way things are done in Nigeria, with an Ogoni state my future is guaranteed. I therefore support the call for an Ogoni State within Nigeria.
Karen BeabuBari Lar-Wisa | NG | I am born an Ogoni and, from the way things are done in Nigeria, with an Ogoni state my future is guaranteed. I therefore support the call for an Ogoni State within Nigeria.
Favor Kara Lar-Wisa | NG | I am born an Ogoni and, from the way things are done in Nigeria, with an Ogoni state my future is guaranteed. I therefore support the call for an Ogoni State within Nigeria.
Lucky Wisa | NG | As a young Ogoni, I smell death around me and continuing in our present situation is without hope in Nigeria, where tribal sentiment plays a major role in all facets of life. An Ogoni State is just the answer to our problem.
Ebere Elekwachi | NG | I am an Ikwerre by birth and a student in Nigeria. Courtesy of a friend, I visited Ogoniland and what I saw confirmed the story I heard and read about Ogoni. I therefore join in calling for the creation of an Ogoni State. All their demands are right and legitimate and will give them a sense of belonging. Thus I urge the authorities concerned to follow the path of justice and CREATE A STATE FOR THE OGONI, PLEASE.
Stella Oluwafemi | NG | I am a Yuroba and live in Ogoni. A people without light, roads, water, health facilities and other basic necessities of life but contribute to the economic appear alienated from the rest of the world. If our leaders were Ogoni, they would equally demand what Ogoni is demanding. So other states are split for development, WHY NOT OGONI HAVE SAME TASTE OF DEVELOPMENT? I call on the powers that be to please give this people a STATE, they deserve to be in a state of their own.
Joy Igben | NG | Am not an Ogoni, but was conducted round some villages in Ogoni by a friend who took me there for sight-seeing. I expected to find some of the basic things of life we enjoy in Delta State which are given us because we are a state, but found NONE. All the villages we visited were enveloped in utter darkness at night, life was dull and the villages lonely. The presence of oil companies could be seen around but the attendant benefits of oil exploration was far from them as day from night. I wasted no time but to ask that the clamor for a state be intensified as that will help them greatly. I hereby append my signature and wish them success in the struggle.
Modupe Thompson | NG | I am a Yoruba but schooled in Bori and know what it means to be an Ogoni. Holidays in Lagos state was like travelling from Nigeria to the USA. Yet the oil that sustained Nigeria come from Ogoniland. What can be too much to do for this people, if GIVING THEM A STATE IS CONSIDERED BIG? Could other world bodies prevail on Nigeria to acceed to the minimum demand of the Ogoni as it is done for other tribes in the same country, please? I support their campaign and just demand for a state within Nigeria.
Ruth | NG | I am an Edo and view the demand of the Ogoni for a STATE within Nigeria as just and legitimate. Especially as it is done peacefully and non-violently. I therefore support the Ogoni struggle for justice and peace in the Niger Delta.
Mercy Igho | NG | I am an Edo and have Ogoni friends who take me home on holidays. I hate to be there and feel for those who lived there all their lives. Ogoni is big, rich and qualified to be a state, if Nigeria will not let them go as an independent nation. To ask for a STATE within Nigeria is being lenient on Nigeria, considering the rate of exploitation and rape on their life. Me and my parents join in the struugle of the Ogoni to demand A STATE as a MINIMUM demand on Nigerian government. PLEASE GIVE OGONI PEOPLE A STATE! Thank you.
Haruna Tahir Mohammed | NG | I have an Ogoni friend, Mr. Lebari Kabel, whom I used to feel exergerates the deplorable Ogoni situation in Nigeria. Yes, I have read and heard all the news of economic strangulation, political marginalization and environmental degradation of the Ogoni people in Nigeria. But when I was conducted round few villages (Mogho, Bomu and Gbe) in Gokana, I no longer think Mr Kabel exergerates. Poverty is visible. People live in pristine conditions adjacent oil installations and pipelines criss-crossing their neighbourhood. I support the creation of an Ogoni State in Nigeria.
Aziz Babadogo | NG | I learnt of this from a dear friend, Lebari Kabel, whom I know will not support any unjust course. I also know of the cheat and dehumanization meted to the Ogoni people by the Nigerian state during the pogrom of 1995. I also know that my own state is far less in all comparisons to an Ogoni state if created, yet their land produces the oil that sustains the entire country. Ogoni will be much viable as a state than most present states in Nigeria. I append my signature for the creation of an Ogoni state.
Philomena I. | NG | My visit and subsequent residence in Ogonilan bring me to terms with the agitation of the Ogoni for a just society for all. The recent visit by the Esnate to the ND put paid to the essence of this demand. Make Ogoni a tribe in Nigerian federation by giving them a State at least.
| 148 | Anonymous | NG | I thank you guys for making the Ogoin flag flying everywhere.
keep it on and God will bless you.

| 149 | Nwigia Saro Nkesi | NG | A state should be created for the Ogoni one of the minimum demand spelled out in the Ogoni Bill of Rights.
Ogoni as a unique ethnic group in Nigeria deserves a state where they can manage their resources. |
Kabel L. Kabel | NG | Speed up the creation of an Ogoni state within Nigeria by signing up this petition. Write/phone your representative/senator and let him/her know the compelling need of creating an Ogoni state within Nigeria. Enough of economic and political marginalization. Enough of environmental devastation and subjugation. Before we go extinct by forces of oppression from pseudo-democratic, amalgamated anomic Nigeria. Let Ogoni people have a sense of belonging to a country by having a state of their own. It will douse the effects of deep trauma after the pogrom. This is the minimum I am demanding from Nigeria as an Ogoni. I urge you to join me to sign and support this legitimate petition. Please, pass this petition on to others. Thank you.
