AnonymousAs an FAU alumni, i am discusted by the fact that FAU has not responded to this incident yet. An official statement must be released.

Rashid AbbaraFAU should have zero tolerance toward employees who are hatful, racists or bigots as they could hurt students on campus. Even though, the employee was not acting on behalf of the Univ, but she was wearing a Staff Shirt and the incident happened on campus. She must be held accountable for her actions.

Amir AbdelzaherThis definetly needs to be addressed by FAU adminstration asap. As a institute of higher education it needs to at least make clear its position regarding the actions of its employees, if not taking responsibility for what happened.
narimanThis is absolutly horrendous.. I'm an FAU strudent and feel offended by the lack of action by the university
SamirSounds pretty simple to me - just say the only sensible thing - spitting on students is a deplorable act, the university should have zero tolerance towards such behavior by it's employees.
Jalal ShehadehI think the actions of the FAU employee are inappropiate. The woman was wearing an FAU shirt, on FAU property, attending an FAU event, organized by an FAU group, that is funded by FAU. This is an unacceptable action on the part of an agent of FAU. FAU should be taking the necessary steps to ensure such activity is not condoned by the institution.
Abdul RashidA formal apology is demanded from the FAU adminstration, for the abnormal behavior of their employ.
AnonymousThe incident was disgusting and and happed publiculy therefore it shold be apologized publicaly. and universities should avoid to host speeches of those who spread hatred. it does not matter which side they belong Islam or non Islam. Extremist in any side is bad for society and peace Thanks - Bari

Anjanette RassifThese types of hateful actions cannot be tolerated especially from a member of an educational facility. College faculty are to act in a professional manner and set a good example to their students. An official statement is a lot less than I would expect in this situation.

AnonymousRequsting FAU to release a clear official statement
Ahmad AlThis is a physical insult. FAU should go beyond just condemming the acts of this employee on their student. Termination of employement has to be considered.
Anisa OweisI, as a Muslim American condemn the action of FAU employee and feel that this employee should be terminated due to the unhuman action against another human. It is just unbeleivable that a university that should be promoting respect among all individuals allows to keep people such as this employee under their employment force.
Hawa BurkeI cannot even begin to imagine the humiliation that the girl who was spat on went through.... the least FAU can do is issue a statement condemning the act, one would wonder if the "I am sorry" was really genuine!!!!
AnonymousPlease release an official statement condemning the act of employee spitting on a student of the school. Thanks

AnonymousIt saddens me to hear how people can be blinded by hatred and ignorance. And in regards of Dr. Daniel Pipes speech, it is an obvious example of the difference between IQ and common sense.

Munzer HayalRegardless of the faith that your representative attached and insulted, this is not a behavior acceptable at an educatinal institution.

AnonymousThis makes me sick, they should fire that woman. Student Affairs' response is equally despicable, as is the lack of outrage from multicultural student organizations and clubs on campus.
John B. KochAs a resident of Palm Beach County and Chair of a local environmental organization I am outraged over this disgusting expression of hate by a FAU employee.

Jesse McDonnellAs an agent of FAU, even though not acting on behalf of the school, the actor committed a battery against the Muslim Student. FAU should dismiss this lady not just because what she had done is reprehensible, but could turn into a law suit.

Josef PalermoPresident Brogan, you sit on a state board to stop crime committed by juveniles... why don't you take a stand and stop hate crimes (like an assault via spitting) committed by employees under your watch?

Vaschni Savainit's sad iin this day and age we claim to have been 'better' then those before us, but in actuality we are just the same. Disgusting, pathetic, cowards.

Chieng Chieng Liit is a pity that as an FAU employee, regardless of what their position is, does not know how to act in public and/or on campus. i am not aware of who the FAU employee is but if FAU really does expect to expand in any way, they are definitely not going the right way about this situation. it is no wonder that FAU pride is to the minimum, after all, who would want to be part of a university who employs ignorant, obnoxious, racist humans anyway. on top of all that, who would want to be part of something who does not want to do something about that?
Shyam SriramThe "spitting employee" needs to be suspended immediately. I already believe the image of FAU as an equal-opportunity institution has been tarnished.
AnonymousSUPPORT DIVERSITY!! This is horrible and offensive that an educational institution such as FAU would remain silent about this. If the student that was spat on was African-American and they had the NAACP to respond to, you better believe they would respond. This is sad and disturbing that once again in the United States one people, in this case Muslims are not considered equal to others. Are we in the 1960s all over again???? Where are the civil rights. Isn't there a statement somewhere about RACE, SEX, CREED and RELIGOUS AFFILIATION??? Where is the equality?? SUPPORT DIVERSITY!!
