| 551 | joe zurlo | James Webb...simply the best. |
| 552 | Michael Rasico | This is the ticket we need. |
| 553 | Jeremy McKenna | I see Jim Webb as a straight talker; one who will not shy from any political debate or topic. I saw him interviewed on CNN regarding his comments on the motivation of war behind most Confederate soldiers. I am pretty into history myself, and often have to challenge others who believe the Civil War was only about slavery. It was good to see Jim answer the questions honestly, without hesitation. I think he would make a fine VP and would certainly bring in a lot of voters that Barack may, and I do emphasize "may", have problems with during the general election. His ability to meld his military service experience with good judgment on foreign policy would be a great asset as well. |
| 554 | Steve Cochran | While I know the decision ultimately rests with Barack Obama, I believe Cousin Jim would be an outstanding Vice President!

| 583 | David Odell | I would love to see Jim Webb as Obama's VP. I believe he has what it takes to not only be VP, but someday as our President. |
| 584 | Anonymous | i sincerely believe this is THE BEST Dem ticket for '08.
Sen. Webb's str8 talk approach is just what we need 2 get the Democratic party message out 2 the american ppl clearly and concisely. |
| 585 | Christopher Scott | If you're serious about winning my home state of Virginia, you need to get serious about Jim Webb. |
| 586 | Anonymous | i know many Virginians favor Webb 4 Dem VP. but i live in NY and am confident that Obama/Webb would be the best ticket 2 stick it to McCain & Co. in Nov. |
| 587 | Rob Petty | Several months ago I read two very different things and put forth an idea that amazingly others have thought of, too. That is that Jim Webb would be an excellentchoice for VP for Senetor Obama.
The first piece, I forgot what the entire article was about was the role of a Vice President. In it it stated that a great Vice President not only shares the views of the President, but is also a bit of a bulldog in going after people who are against or at odds with the President's plans, ideas, and vision for teh country;someone who isn't afraid of a good fight, who isn't to go toe to toe, to speak the truth when the truth isn't necisarily pretty; someone who can do this so that the president does not need to enter the arena and come out sullied.
The other thing I read was bits and pieces of Senator Webb's book, I believe it is the new one, A Time to Fight. In it, Senator Webb is described as just that someone who'll not only enter the ring to defend those ideals, policies and agenda of a President Obama. It is exactly what Vice President Cheney has done for President Bush.
These two men make a perfect counter-balance on one handsincew Obama has had a tough time drawing the blue-collar white vote and senior citizen vote. There are a mighty few like this, like my father, who are currently supporting McCain because they fell that in a time of war, the nation needs someone with military experience. But, like Obama, Webb opposed teh war in Iraq from the beginning. Like Obama, Webb is inter-culturally adept having served in Vietnam and now married to a Vietnamese women and with a long history of helping Vietnam after the war.
I say these things as a son of a former Marine who is a Vietnam veteran. I am also a former Maarine who left and studied abroad after serving in Japan and since have worked in an intercultural context for the last twelve years.
I sincerely respect John McCain and his military service and war experiences. I have shook his hand and gotten a book signed by him. but I won't vote for him. Not when a man like Obama comes along with wisdom and intelligence. Jim Webb would be the perfect Vice Presidential running mate for Barack Obama. Spread the word. |
| 588 | Rodney Pierce | |
| 589 | Ron Edins | I would have voted for him for President if his name had been an option. By far the best option I can see |
| 590 | Anonymous | Obama-Webb victory in 08 |
| 591 | Bill Young | I hope someone makes Barack realize what a great choice Jim Webb is for VP. Need to get more people involved for Jim.... It's time to fix this country and move to the future. Bush is the worst and dumbest president ever. |

| 593 | Anonymous | A brilliant choice for Obama's VP. He will bring conservative democrats and disenchanted republicans into the fold, and has military and foreign policy credentials that top McCain. |
| 594 | Mark S. McGuffin | |
| 595 | Tom Counts | Kaine appoints Rick Boucher to serve in Webb's vacated Senate seat. Boucher is a moderate with statewide name recognition.
Jon Bowerbank, also well known in the 9th CD, runs for Boucher's Boucher's vacated U.S. House seat and wins. GOP has no viable candidate nor funding to run against Jon.
Win-win-win combination ? |

| 597 | Henry Tieleman | I believe that Senator Webb will be able to campaign in the Appalagian Region where Senator Obama did noty well. Jim Webb has many relatives living in this area. |
| 598 | steve Mitchell | Jim Webb - please consider the VP spot - we need you... and fight on!! |
| 599 | lisa vanderlinde | |
| 600 | Donald Macdonald | Obama / Webb would get every nationwide Marine vote PLUS every Vets. vote as well. Images are important and Obama and Webb together look relaxed perfect together. |
